Not a bad idea, actually

Get a hotel for them. Request handicapped access. They are large and offer roll in showers.

Check TownePlace suites their handicapped we've used and they are really well setup.

Yep.

Strong storms are typically taller, so they feel the steering in the upper atmosphere more. Wherever that steering is going will influence the storm. That’s often a ridge with clockwise rotation recurving it to the NE, but not always.

im pretty sure low pressure systems bump against high pressure, and pull towards low pressure systems

so a stronger system would be pushed more away from a ridge and pulled more towards a trough

right now the main influence on westward/eastward movement is a ridge sitting around the east coast

Ok cause for Laura I thought the western eye wall and side was “worse”. Thanks.

The quadrant where the winds are blowing on-shore is typically the worst because with winds blowing onshore, water is being pushed onshore (i.e., storm surge). Winds on the western side can be terrible and do a lot of damage, but there is a less surge because the winds are moving offshore.

a hurricane is a little bitch when it comes to steering

it gets pushed around like the tiny kid on the playground

any little feature that can give a tropical system a push will move it in that direction... the storm itself never dictates where it'll go

Again, this system will ride the ridge. Wherever it sets up, that's where it will be at its furthest point east.

The front right quadrant with respect to forward motion is the bad one. Typically NE quadrant for Louisiana storms.

Baw, you know that the NAM is pure trash.

Data assimilation across the various platforms results in very similar initialization. So the 12z 00hr NAM output is useful un that sense. Garbage beyond.
