Waiting for Levi to post the 12Z runs. These should have run at 7AM. Not sure what the hold up is.

I don't believe there is a time threshold for gusts, but I'm not sure.

Those NOAA maps are showing sustained winds as average wind speed over a minute.

Depends on how old you are and how attractive she is.

Levi doesn't post them, they automatically populate when the data is available. His website basically just turns data into a map. Also, they run at 7AM, but it takes hours to finish, and more time to output graphically. GFS won't be til 10:45 ish, then they stagger after that.

A lot of wind and rain. I would plan to be without power for an extended period of time.

Pretty sure gusts are considered anything 20 seconds and shorter

Any Beauregard Parish Tiger fans live on the East Side of the Dry Creek Water Tower?

Does a stronger storm push harder against that ridge and move the track a little more east?

Strong storms don’t push a ridge they follow the edge of it

Forgive my ignorance, Is BR going to be right in the middle of this storm?

There is a small chance we see 100 MPH gusts here in BR but anyone who suggests we see sustained winds in that range is insane. There would be massive destruction throughout the entire city and many deaths with sustained winds in that range

I don't live this like half this board does, but how often have we seen 100mph sustained from any storm 70ish miles inland? Maybe the south LA topography is a different animal, but I think it's also relatively common that Cat 2-3 storms come in with recorded sustained below 100 even at the coast. I know that's not definitive of sustained winds due to measurement issues, but a consideration nonetheless.

"Sustained" 100mph winds in BR would be catastrophic

Yeah, I know right? I feel like I gotta be careful giving amateur opinions given the "meteorologists" swinging dicks on this board.

To my amateur eye it looks like it's getting its act together too.
