They have to have backup generators. Memorial in LC made it through Laura all right. A buddy of mine worked there during the storm. When shite hit the fan, people from the neighborhood came to the hospital like the walking dead banging on the locked doors thinking it was a shelter.

Little early to say. If it heads 30-40 miles in either direction BR is in much better shape

Don’t know you but man, that is a hard situation. Prayers for your family, hopefully this thing doesn’t cause you any further pain or stress

Current NHC track (yes I know it is a guess and will change) has it going between St amant and port Vincent , …. In that case BR is fukked

It's already shifting all over the place. Seems like we can never trust these damn forecasts until it's damn near over land.

On the trip back from work this evening, I saw a business already boarding up in Lake Charles.

Did they ever fix that PVC pipe at Tiger Stadium? If not, this might be their chance

Of course the track can change in 48 hours. Potentially the high to the east of the track can E-X-P-A-N-D and push the storm southward and westward.

Definitely. I would think an evac is extremely unlikely right now.

It’s almost as if weather is dynamic

ETA: or in Biden Admin speak, it’s an evolving situation

Appears a few storms are starting to fire around the "center" for the first time all day.
