I asked earlier in the thread, but with new developments and what have you, I'll ask again..

I'm pulling out of Amelia Island tomorrow, I hear we are going to be under mandatory evacuation by tomorrow evening.

LOL, you ain't playing no golf in Cocoa Beach Friday. That'll be ground zero based on the models

Orlando will get TS winds, downed trees and a good bit of rain. Doubtful they'll see structural damages unless the thing veers left

That's what I figured. Their dog is having surgery on Friday as well. I'm going to try to get them to to scrap everything and head this way.

Hearing the same here for Atlantic, Neptune, and Jax Beaches. Ponte Vedra probably too. FLboo will probably get hit hard in Nocatee as well.

I guess it is all relative, but I'd say not so great. According to the NHC, there is a 77% cumulative probability of 40MPH sustained winds and a 15% cumulative probability of sustained hurricane force winds in Orlando over the next 5 days.

quote:I'll be honest. I usually lean a lot on the ECMWF, and did early in this season, but it's proving to be pretty unreliable past 3-4 days this year. It'll take more than one outlier model run for me to believe this storm takes any sort of southerly track.
What's your take on the recent models and looping?

Not likely. I'd bet everything will be shut down. Mandatory evacuations highly likely.

You can tell by Google maps that folks are heading inland in SC.
But what about our FL friends? And where can they go, Tampa? Hotels will be booked from Tallahassee to Tampa for sure.

No way that's happening.

Don't want to, but I have the wife and pets to worry about. I'm preparing to leave, but will wait until Thursday, at least before deciding.

No problem.
The NHC website basically suggests that Orlando has roughly the same outlook as Daytona Beach at the moment.

I see you even changed your location on your TD profile to reflect the evacuation.
