3ft on the island or above tide

Sorry for the confusion.

Above tide. Palm Blvd will see pulses of water wash over but it'll never be impassible. Like I've said multiple times in this thread, flooding will be significantly less than less October if that's any consolation

BTW, once Matt gets closer to FL, then I will petition Chicken to open up an observation thread where only a few people can post relative information, while the rest of us can discuss and keep things "lighter" in this thread.

Still....thankfully neither of our states have to deal with major storms that often, but when it comes to hurricanes, you're talking the two of the most resilient and experienced states in the country. You can tell by how organized the Florida government is on both state and local levels. Twitter is killing it too. Other parts of the country don't just know what this shite is like. You can tell by how the people that have recently moved here are as compared to people who've spent a lot of time here or grown up here.

I really don't want to see how bad things are down there in Haiti. I got a feeling it's gonna be bad.

It will weaken, however once back over water it will intensify more. There is nothing to stop it from doing this until it skids on the outer east side of Florida.

Good evening team, for the next few days TD will be one of my go to's for information. I am a block from the ocean in Jax Beach but a storm professional (going through them not covering them) from Louisiana. Any information you share over the next couple of days will be greatly appreciated.

I think Matthew destroyed a rum distillery, and is now drunk.

NHC website has a 57% cumulative probability of 40MPH sustained winds in Gainesville and an 18% cumulative probability of 58MPH sustained winds in the next 5 days. Both are up 10%+ since this morning.

Florida governor is warning people to prepare for the worst. Stores are packed with people buying supplies. Gas stations are already packed with people.

When is this thing supposed to reach Florida? I have a golf tournament with my dad in Cocoa Beach on Friday. I live in St. Petersburg. Should I just have them come over here?

FWIW, not that anyone gives a shite 336 hours in advance, but the GFS eventually takes Matthew into Spain around noon central time on October 18th.
