I been outta the loop. You mean ... you really mean ...

WTF, there's worse things than a cancelled football game. I figured my neighborhood was gonna be flattened by a Cat 4 ... and here we are alive and well.

Go Razorbacks.

Yep. The main takeaway should be how big of a difference 30-40 miles makes and hopefully not a complete disregard for future warnings.

This. The NHC hammered this point and the track made it even more obvious than normal. However, storm appears to be taking a bit of a west jog this morning. Probably not good news for NE Florida.

Wife has to go into work at a place with a generator and higher ground. I'll probably make the trip as much as I don't want to leave the house and am prepared to deal with this. At least I'll be in the area to come clean up after it's done.

I'm ready for this thing to move past FL.

Looks like 2-5pm will be the crucial period Amelia Island and the storm surge.

The sad part is that people will look at this and say "I should have not evacuated".

If it doesn't affect them they think the NHC was being foolish for telling everyone to leave.

The thing about hurricanes that gets me is how fickle they are. We see them as powerful systems but in the meteorology realm they're actually pissants. They are tossed around by seemingly benign weather features and they're highly susceptible to something as simple as shear or dry air. They have very little control over their direction too.

It is truly incredible that they can form and grow to the strength and size we see sometimes when you consider how many things have to go perfect for them to even exist.

Well then they need to talk to Shepard Smith. He can set them straight on how different things can be with a shift in the track of just 20 miles.

It looks like Matthew finally sent Nicole back to the kitchen. She's been downgraded to a TS

Eye is not defined as it was but the winds around it are at 120 mph that's why I hope it stays about 75-100 miles off the coast.
