I suppose Nettles Island doesn't seem to be such a good idea now.

His argument is that hiking the prices prevents hoarding. People will buy only what they need if the price is high. That leaves more for others to purchase as well.

Impose a limit on the consumer then. 10/gallons per customer or 2 packages of bottled water per customer. Something like that.

There is no reason to charge $30 for a package of bottled water or a tripled rate on a crappy Days Inn.

Palm City, FL.
Still have power, for now.

My family is in Stuart riding it out. Hopefully this thing takes a turn more north.

If there is a $100 rate and you have a family of 6, how many rooms would you be willing to rent?

If there is a $500 rate, how many?

If you ship bottled waters, how much effort are you going to put into getting water into an area where you can sell a pack for $4?

$25?

None, I keep fricking driving until I meet someone who's not a cock sucker.

Ok... I'll allow this... I would like to see if it actually makes a difference though.

The key is "gross disparity", which from what I understand is part of the spirit of the law. I'm not saying you shouldn't be able to raise prices.

You don't have to keep the rate at that $100, but to increase it by a factor of 5? That is over the line.

Max winds latest forecast (subject to change):

Palm City - 70 mph gusting to 86 mph at around 1 AM EDT

Stuart - 75 mph gusting to 92 mph at around 1 AM EDT

That is for the city. If you have a zip code, I can look that one up. If you are closer to the Atlantic than the center of town the winds will obviously be stronger.

Why do you say that?

Added issues with it being pitch black? Everyone knocked out and less aware?

Reports coming in from Freeport sound like massive devastation over there. Just saw a report that the Castaway Hotel in Freeport had its entire roof blown off and suffered massive damage.
