This caught my attention. I don’t know jack about the inner workings of the US SOF community, but why would a Navy SEAL train an Army unit?

An Admiral could have easily done both of those things

But would a retired admiral wear that uniform out to the local bar & grill?

Oh I’m sure that it’s got a pretty wide alcohol selection as is befitting of anything associated with the USMC and I bet it does get pretty wild on Nov. 10.

I’m just saying that that sounds like a place that an old 1Sgt whose entire identity is the USMC would take his wife on what he considered to be a “nice date.”

Doubtful he would wear it anywhere but a formal function where he is being honored...

I always silently judge anyone whos wearing their uniform and not on a base..BR really gets me because there might be five actual Active Duty people who live here and they don't have real Military jobs..

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone in BR wearing a dress uniform unless they were in some way participating in a formal event or Toys for Tots.

Going to college so close to Ft. Jackson, seeing people in uniform was extremely common. 99.9% of the time, it was the ACU (not in the military, so unsure if I got that acronym right).

I always liked when busloads of soldiers would come in for USC games when they were playing some shitty school and had extra tickets for the soldiers.

I was not in the military, and never had any desire to tell anyone that I was. This kind of stuff makes absolutely no sense to me. What is it that people think they get out of it?

In this particular guy's case, it seems as if he was doing this to bolster his sales. Wouldn't he realize, that when caught, his business would soon be shut down?

Where would one get a rear admiral uniform if one is not a rear admiral?

6 years Marines reserve. No time in Nam. He went so far as to say he was in the sit room next to the president during the Bhaghdadi raid. He is a pathological liar.

I wore mine once to a formal event in BR. That’s the only time I’ve ever worn it to a civilian function.

It used to be that you could identify these stolen valor types pretty easily because they’re the ones almost always talking about their service. I get uncomfortable when people tell me thanks for your service, as does just about every veteran I know.

But these days every hard on that touches sand is writing a book hoping to get movie rights, so the fake ones are harder to spot.
