They are being overpaid by 4.5 million dollarrs.
Posted on 6/12/21 at 8:45 am to WhoDatNC
The kid that was rape assaulted by Sterlings son should get every penny of that 4.5 million.

Good. Vote for Democrats, get wasteful spending.

I can't get past the fact that his family didn't even allow him to live with them.
And I blame lawyers more than anyone for this.. They are the ones who seek out opportunities like this.
I wonder how much the lawyers get?

Money laundering and kickbacks will eventually get them.

All I know is that Sterling took slot of secrets to his grave.

As a taxpayer in EBR Parish I demand an accounting if the entire episode and an explanation of why my tax dollars are going to these people. It shouldn’t be swept under the rug. It should be public.

How you gonna make them public???? All I’m gonna say is that this POS was doing something wrong and knew if he got arrested again he would go to jail for life. But that didn’t stop him from breaking the law…. He had a gun which should not have had, and was selling drugs outside that store. He was so wasted that he ended up being so stupid as to wave said gun at somebody. Cops were called the rest is history… his civil rights were NoT violated…… this is a cop out by the BR system…..

Such a piece of shite family.

Secrets? He wasn't some big timer involved in some criminal enterprise. He was a 2 bit hustler felon living in a church because he wasn't welcomed at home.
He was selling CDs. It wasn't like he was moving brick of coke.. Im not sure what kind of secrets come with selling CDs in front of a convenient store.

What was Gravy's cut? What about Broome, Paul, and Banks how much did each of them pocket?

I feel like there is not enough lawyer hate in this thread.

I’d settle for pre-school graduation. But, I hope they’re using that money to spectate morning drop off at Episcopal.

I blame SWB and the parish government. They act like we don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of when it comes to improving schools and infrastructure, yet they have $4.5 million laying around in disposable income to just throw at this family no problem. The city is literally the trashiest I've ever seen it. The crime is the worst I've ever seen it. Our per capita murder rate laughs at some of the nation's worst places. And the answer is always the same: not enough in the budget. Yet there's plenty in the budget to waste on this criminal who resisted arrest and tried to pull out a gun in the process. Granted, after being questioned in the process of selling (illegally) bootlegged CD's.
It infuriates me to even think about it. I may not live in Baton Rouge but I certainly grew up in Baton Rouge, so I'm passionate about seeing the city become the next Detroit.

You need to rethink your post…. If you don’t think that Sterling was selling drugs OR the middle man in selling drugs you are even more stupid than I thought.

I can’t make anyone do anything, but I think Broome snd the C-P needs to tell us exactly everything so that we can understand why they caved.
We need the DA, the Feds and BRPD to release their reports about everything that happened that led up to the event. We need to see what Sterling was selling, we need to see the gun, we need to know why that store was letting all of this happen nightly on their property. Everybody needs to be aware of all the facts and not just what Sterling’s people are spinning.
Then we can all make up our own minds as to whether or not our Council person should have caved.
My guy decided to give away the store. I need to know what made him do that. If his answer is because he wanted “the community” (whatever that is) then he needs to go.
Someone needs to run against him this time. He is one of “them”.

Why don’t we already KNOW what he was really selling? Why is Sterling portrayed as some kind of entrepreneur? The people need the facts.

Money was most definitely funneled through many many hands. Lots of folks including high ranking cops are getting paid. And after the ministers, lawyers, and council get paid, they’re ALL left with half a million to a mil to split amongst too many.
