One of the most vexing questions in physics is what would really happen if you fell into a black hole? Now, a new radical theory, proposed by famous cosmologist Stephen Hawking, may finally solve this challenging puzzle.

I just hope that when you get to the black hole that there is a huge Confederate flag waiting for you.

The hole would need to be large and if it was rotating it might have a passage to another universe. But you couldn’t come back to our universe. So although I’m keen on space flight, I’m not going to try that

Ok if blackhole's are our universe's gateway to other universe's and it truly is a "one way trip" as Hawking proposes then what are the things that connect other universes to ours in a "one way trip" and why haven't we found them?

Good question. I've always been one to not buy into the "alternate universe" theories. They are completely fascinating, but something that I feel like we (humans) simply made up at some point.

And did anybody else read those Hawking quotes in the robot/computer voice, or am I the only one?

I'm so sick of hearing about what this guy "thinks" is out there. He doesn't know anymore than the rest of us.

You're right. I mean why even talk about. Let's just accept that God created it all and move on with our lives

Another theory, and another example of no one on this planet has any idea what the frick is going on out there. Hell Stephen King's version of the universe in "It" is about as legit as what most scientists think maybe, might, possibly, sort of happen.

His colleague Penrose is even farther out there. Last I checked, he was theorizing that quantum effects involving microtubules in the brain are the basis of consciousness. The answer will probably be even weirder.

Because these wild theories progress us as a species. I mean, we really have no clue what a BH looks like because of the way we "see" objects (light and shite). If all the knowledge in the universe was in a book, we haven't even opened the cover yet. Theories like this spur conversation on the topic, which leads to funding, which gives us awesome information. God bless science.

ETA because I can't spell.
