The first thing they could do is start with some education and put large billboards everywhere talking about how trashy it is to trash Louisiana.

They can’t. Every billboard has a scumbag injury attorney lawyer on it.

It’s not just Baton Rouge either. I simply cannot understand why people think it’s okay to litter and why people leave loose trash in the back of their truck.

I’d raise the fine to $5,000 and write tickets every time. That’s some the cops could do that’s actually productive besides pulling over speeders.

Bruh, it didn’t sound any better the second time you posted it.

Know how I know you’ve never fished much in South Louisiana?

Your socioeconomic areguement may hold true for other states, but it’s irrelevant in Louisiana.

Sadly it’s no longer just limited to the berm of the interstates. Drive around any suburban neighborhood on garbage pickup day. People can’t even be bothered in this state to pick up trash that’s blown onto their front yard from their trash cans. They seem to figure it will eventually blow somewhere else.

Very true, and although it’s not an area most venture to these days, if you’re in the neighborhood, take a quick pass down N. Harrell’s Ferry where it comes to Blvd de Province and the sight of trash mounded up on the side of the road will absolutely blow your mind. It quite literally looks like a landfill and never been picked up.

There’s no excuse for this anywhere in this city but just plain laziness and trashiness. It’s as if the city makes no attempt whatsoever to pick anything up. Ever... it just stays there and festers as if mommy is coming by any minute to pick up after the hooligans and their free for all party.

How often do you contribute by picking up litter on the side of the road?

I return every year to fish south LA and I tend to judge the state harshly. I’ve never once seen what he’s describing.

Rich people dumping garbage cans full of trash in the marina?

Come on

Here’s a better idea than picking it up...DON’T THROW IT OUT TO BEGIN WITH.

But to your point, every time I mow the grass I have to pick up shite next to the road my property is on.

The point is if people didn't litter, then you wouldn't have to rely on the government to pick up your trash.

There is too much litter in the state and too many people want to complain that the government isn't doing anything instead of taking some responsibility or initiative.

I know right? Wealthy people would never do that. They wouldn’t steal money or be dishonest. They don’t have drug addictions or cheat on their taxes. Cause only poor people do that kind of thing

I’ve witnessed countless occasions of people dumping trash out their window or door. It’s a real problem all over BR, and the surrounding parishes. It’s the same collective group that don’t have car seats for their children. Not sure if it’s a culture thing or ignorance. Perhaps both?

I have witnessed this too. One time I remember in particular was a car load that I was stuck behind on I-10 bridge traffic that was stopped for a while due to an accident. They had obviously all gotten plate lunches and ate them while stopped. When finished they just dropped the styrofoam plates, leftovers and empty drinks out the windows not the highway.

SIAP, but littering is incredibly repugnant to me. It’s completely unnecessary and even animals don’t shite in their own dens. The fact that it’s epidemic in this state speaks volumes.

This, and litterbugs should be shot.

Before we have the study, Mayor Broome will have a luncheon and a discussion.

This sounds like BS and your attempt at fairness. But, if we accept it as true, are only residents allowed to drive those roads? What percentage of residents in the nicest neighborhoods still smoke?
