Why is that?

Will post whenever it comes up.

It is a shame anytime someone suffers like this. When it is a cop or at the hand of a cop.

Citizens should have beaten the life out of that piece of shite slowly. Nobody would mind.

Prayers for the trooper and family.

ID'd as Senior Trooper Steven Vincent per KATC.

LSP Sgt. James Anderson also identified the 13-year State Police veteran as the brother of Iowa Police Chief Keith Vincent. Trooper Vincent also has a second brother on the Louisiana State Police force.

7 p.m.

Col. Michael Edmonson, head of Louisiana state police, says the trooper who was shot in the head on Sunday is a 13-year veteran who has a 9-year-old son.

He says 43-year-old Master Trooper Steven Vincent is from a law enforcement family — one brother is also a state trooper and another is a town police chief.

He says 54-year-old Kevin Daigle of Lake Charles was arrested. He says charges against Daigle will include attempted murder of a police officer.

Regional spokesman James Anderson says both Vincent and Daigle are white.

Vincent was shot after receiving a call that Daigle was driving erratically and had drove his pickup truck into a ditch.

Edmonson says several civilians subdued Daigle, put the trooper's handcuffs on him and gave the trooper first aid.

The hospital isn't that bad but I think they have to take in a lot of riff raff now days from what I understand because Moss shut down.

I may have heard wrong so someone else can confirm if I did. I don't pay attention to Moss and hardly ever pass by it to see.

I know this is off topic, but to me this sounds like Charity (LSU) in New Orleans. They have to take in a lot of riff raff, but have the best trauma ward in the NOLA area because of it.

He is a great guy and a great trooper. He received an award a couple years ago for busting a robbery suspect that was on the loose. Take your bullshite somewhere else.

I read somewhere earlier that it was a small caliber gun. This could bode well for the trooper.

While their movement can be erratic, it can also lodge somewhere without causing much damage. I may be reaching but I would like to see him not just survive, but fully recover and prosper.

I doubt it.

Big man 300 miles away behind a computer screen while the trooper is in critical condition.

Now is not the fricking time.

This. Completely. If a small caliber actually penetrates the skull, anything can happen...usually bad things, but I've seen a couple of very strange small caliber gunshots to the head over the past 25 years that had a good outcome. May this be another.
