Money stays local, though, funding local needs.
In Louisiana, you send your income tax dollars to Baton Rouge and hope a "fair share" gets redistributed back to your local community and public school district during the annual Prostitution Fest...I mean...Legislative Session.

And is better in damn near every way from a government and economic standpoint.

They can't even fix the freakin potholes.

I don't think a 4.25% income tax is the reason why Louisiana's population has not grown.
That, and our asinine corporate tax structure, are reasons why business is not expanding / moving here.
Are they the sole reasons? No,‘we have other issues. But fixing this issue is a step in the right direction.

Live in another state for an extended period of time (5+ years).
It becomes very obvious that the government entities of Louisiana are stealing from their citizens. There are fees and surcharges here that don't exist in other states.

Though, not sure how someone with a brain and common sense would get elected .

It's not just what people pay in La that's the problem, it's what you get for it.
I'm happy to pay more to get more.

I’m very sorry that my state rep just posted from the Grand Canyon on his way to Vegas for the big game, and he won’t see this. I know he reads here, but just too busy this weekend. I also wonder if he’s now buying his season tickets with his campaign fund as our previous sheriff did.

We had at least two running last year, and they got slaughtered by Gov. Landry.

Now that he’s got his Christian caliphate dictatorship established in Louisiana, it’s only a matter of time until jeffar bin landry nationalizes the oil reserves

Louisiana is so unappealing for businesses and residents that although this makes sense in theory, it’s not like they will come flocking here just because the personal income tax is gone.

Landry is too worried about anthems and such to take note.

What is going on with Public Safety Services, Department of Natural Resources, & Department of Environmental Quality. Their total budgets are going from $25M to $80M. Why do we need to suddenly triple their budgets?
On a percentage level, these next 3 don't stick out like those, but the total budget increases raise questions. Louisiana Department of Health is going up $247M, Higher Education is going up $125M, Department of Education increasing $282.5M.
Definitely a spending problem.

And you trust the likes of Sharon Broome, the BR Metro Council or the EBR School Board members to wisely spend the money higher property taxes would generate? I’d rather send it to the State.

LDH is the first department that needs a complete overhaul. Also, it’s a joke elected officials don’t follow the same laws as agencies. That can spend what they want with little to no oversight.

1- 95% of the State isn't Baton Rouge.
2- I'd rather at least be able to attend local parish and school board meetings to see where the money is going. People can't go spend 60 days sitting in Appropriations meetings in Baton Rouge.

Fleming also said that Louisiana’s government is spending too much money.
Oh there’s a flippin surprise

LA will never shrink the size of its government.
