My grandfather used to keep a healthy vegetable garden and had me net up his tomatoes because they would eat the fire out them.

He said “ I don’t care what that book says, don’t let nobody tell you that mockingbirds never hurt anybody. They ruin my tomatoes every year.”

Mockingbirds definitely like their fruit. They peck up my red tomatoes, ripe persimmons, and ripe figs. But I forgive them, their little bird brains don’t know any better!

I've always thought that the mockingbird was an awful choice for Texas. I think the Caracara would be a good choice since it's a regional bird.

Tell that to my buddy who got chased by a pissed off pelican in Australia. Those big bastards have anger issues.

I agree, Mississippi has the mockingbird also, and it’s the a-hole of the bird world. They harass other good birds, piss off humans at all hours and attack pets. The only redeeming quality they have is that they’ll go toe to toe with a hawk. I would much rather the blue jay or mourning dove, or even the McDonald’s parking lot seagull.

The official bird of the poli board is the circle bird.

This bird takes off flying in circles and as they fly in circles the circles keep getting tighter until their heads are up their arse.

The state bird of Utah is a seagull

I think they helped the Mormons with a locust infestation or something back in the early days, so they are quite fond of them.

Still an odd choice for a landlocked state, but they are plentiful here.

No.

But Washington’s state bird is less worse than our state tree. How the Western Red Cedar isn’t the state tree of Washington is a travesty.

Florida - Mockingbird. What a boring choice. Should be Florida Scrub Jay. Or Osprey or Swallow-tailed Kite or Roseatte Spoonbill or Wood Stork. So many good options that aren't used by 6 other States too.

NJ has the golden finch. Not a bad choice. CT has the robin, boring just like the state

Would a pussified person cut open its chest to feed its young ones?

That was the purpose to ensure the state flag has the 3 drops of blood.
