I think it is safe to assume once you hit 85 that there arent a whole lot of people left especially classmates or people you grew up with.

Graduated 10 years ago and have lost 2 (that I know of). Didn't know one of them, the other I had known since elementary school lost her battle with cancer.

Sorry for your loss.

My step-father basically had all of his friends die during the 30 years that I knew him. He died at 90, and was only outlasted by one of his circle of friends -- and that friend had dementia for the last 10 years.

Getting old ain't for sissies.

Found out six of the 90 something people in my class were gone when I attended my 30th reunion in 2011. Couple more gone since then. My parents are in their 80's. They probably average three funerals a month.

That's what I'm saying. If you think it's bad at 40, wait until you're 85.

First classmate (CHS '95) died before we graduated HS.

Rock slide in TN.

Second classmate died of choking in our second year of college.

Both really hurt.

Being a grown up has both its pros and cons.

Just be thankful that you are not responsible for any of the deaths. OR, if you are, declare your intention to mend your ways.

We've lost 3 or 4 I think. I'm class of '87. My mom and dad are pretty much the last of their friends and they had to go out and get new friends.

We've lost one from my college group of friends. Committed suicide.

Wait until you hit 60 and then look back at how many of your family and friends you've buried. It's no fun.

4 have passed away in my graduating class and I graduated in 2007. 1 got hit by car and died in hospital in 7th grade. Another accidentally shot himself in the chest my Junior year. Another died in car accident and and saddest was one of our Valedictorians in my class went into his parents room, put a gun in his mouth and shot himself from depression a few years after graduation. Very sad.

Well that makes them more likely to know about it at least.

I graduated with about 40, would only hear about 2 directly, have no idea about any of the rest.

not any purposeful reason for that, just no reason to keep in touch

yes it is sad - my faded scrap book from my 18 months in Nam - had 18 member pics of our platoon - 4 was KIA, 1 MIA, 3 WIA and 3 took their own lives after discharge - life is short.

Being an adult in America is literally one of the best experiences and standards of living in all of human history.
