Before smartphones, blackberrys, and other digital devices, everybody carried a Daytimer with all their contacts, I carried one around from 1980 to about 2005. I got it out recently and went through the address/phone# section and crossed off those that had died, more than 2/3s of those that I had worked with, gone to school with, and been friends with are gone. I am 62 and it bothers me greatly that so many of my friends are older than me and the contact list gets smaller every year.

Welcome to your 30s.

I had a classmate die from heart attack in 8th grade.

Best friend died in a car wreck at 16.

That was 25 years ago. I haven't been to a funeral that wasn't a grandparent or parent of mine or my SO since then, nor will I.

even though it's a good %.... It's still 1 too many in the grand scheme of things.

They're booking him with 1st degree murder, hopefully they put this shithead to death. He doesn't deserve a needle either. Fry him up.

After reading this thread it appears in pretty fortunate in this area. I had my 20th high school reunion not long ago and during it they announced who out of our class of 450 had died. It was only one person. I guess we have an extremely lucky class.

This is exactly why I didn't graduate.

Last year we had to bury a friend that died in Afghanistan.
Now we have to bury my first date that was murdered by her abusive husband.

Not sure how this works, but it certainly sucks to be an adult.

People die, it is part of life.

One thing that happens a lot now, young adults dying from prescription over dose. It has taken quite a few people I know when they were barely old enough to drink.
