Do your own search. Even without, there's no way they average $15,000 a year in tips so it's still less than a teacher.

As it should be.

I have experience in both and my best friend was an ER nurse.

Elementary school is filled with glorified babysitters who don't teach shite.

College is filled with professors who teach a few classes and have grad school students and other workers do all their work.

The 100k I agree is high (I made the numbers on the fly without thinking too much about it), but on average I have more respect for the guy sitting in the middle of the ocean away from home working equal time pulling oil out of the earth. In my experience his job is more important than the average college professor

People who haven't ever seen shitty public schools are commenting that teachers are underpaid. I am amazed that a lot of "teachers" get paid at all. I have been to schools where the teachers couldn't even be considered babysitters.

A good teacher is worth their weight in gold. There is a night and day difference when you've seen as many as me. They have to have a modest understanding of sociology, psychology, and learning styles to be the best. Most just know about their specific topic, and aren't passionate about teaching.

I had a teacher this semester that said he doesn't agree with the way he is required to teach college

Tips are not a salary. However, they may be factored in by employers when creating a pay structure.

I'll disagree with that, with current curriculum you are not babysitting. I'll offer anyone an opportunity to come show me how it is done since we have some experts.

Kind of wish I would have tried to be a seal. Wouldn't have made it, but seems like the apex job for a male. I would have put "failed out of seal school" on my resume.
