Starks being Starks, nothing more and nothing less. Saturday knife fights and gun fights within families have been going on for years

There's a reason people purchase large swaths of land. Stay off their fricking property.

That being said, you can't shoot someone as they are running away and you aren't supposed to shoot someone unarmed unless a life is threatened. He F'ed.

The incident happened on Jimmy Doyle Road. The area of the shooting is a dead-end road with only three residents: Doyle, the victim’s family and a relative to the victim’s family.

He shot the neighbor’s kin. My grandparents had some acreage, and our hide and seek games probably spilled into their neighbor’s acreage. We didn’t get shot. Regardless of outcome of the trial, would be awkward living at a dead end road with only two neighbors, both of which are kin to the kid you shot in the head from behind.

Yes. Let’s all walk out to the middle of nowhere in the early AM and play hide and seek. Oh look , there is a house in the middle of nowhere we can hide and seek around.

He doesn't exactly have neighbors so what were the kids doing there early on Sunday morning?

how hard is it to stay off of property that doesn't belong to you?

in a lot of backwoods places, very... it's not like every inch of the woods has clearly designated markers or fences to let you know exactly where you are...

you telling me you've NEVER been on someone else's land/property without their consent? hell, growing up we played football on the church next door's property, we'd go cut down sugarcane stalks to have an afternoon snack, we'd play BB wars in the woods... you telling me this should be a capital offense now?

Where our hunting camp is, in Union parish, it’s extremely rural. Not a chance in hell I would let myself or kids be caught anywhere near someone else’s house. Because it just isn’t somewhere you ever expect someone to innocently wonder near your house “accidentally”

nah, i get it... but even if they did, and the person didn't pose any threat whatsoever, should that person die b/c of it? i mean, frick... is that where we are as a society? just shoot and ask questions later?

intentionally, right... i agree... but you never got turned around in the woods, lost your bearings, and tried to walk your way out? shite happens.... should you die b/c you get lost and end up, accidentally, on someone else's property, especially if not deemed a threat to the owner?

i can understand being shocked, pissed, betrayed, or whatever.... but to shoot a person, much less a 14 year old girl, who is unarmed, poses no threat, and is walking AWAY from you, how did we get here, as a society? it's sad man.... just absolutely sad... that same person who so carelessly and cruely took this girls life would likely be quick to tell you all about the "sanctity of life", if the topic came up... just totally hypocritical in worldview.... damn sad, all the way around
