If you told me a few months ago that Nascar would be praised for it's progressiveness and Starbucks would be canceled for its insensitivity, I'd have laughed my arse off at you. 2020 has been one hell of a ride.

Well this is exactly the opposite of what I expected from them of all companies. However I agree.... a business/job is no place for you to display your personal ideals or beliefs. Anyone who disagrees is a dumbass.

And it is only June.

Unfortunately, comedians aren't aloud to tell jokes anymore.
I'm hoping Louis CK says frick it and embarks on a world tour of street corners.

I am all for companies staying out of politics or taking a "stand" on any issue like this.but Starbucks is the very last company I would think of to go this route. I think they'll be fine though, because rich housewives loooove their iced decaf caramel macchiatos.

Did they even make it 24 hours?

Starbucks is reversing its position that had prohibited employees from wearing paraphernalia, such as T-shirts or pins, supporting the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

Although the company publicly supports "Black Lives Matter" on its social media channels and in a press release, an internal memo to employees obtained by BuzzFeed News earlier this week explains that Starbucks wouldn't let baristas do the same. But on Friday, Starbucks reversed its stance, saying they can wear a "Black Lives Matter" T-shirt or pin until new branded shirts are delivered to 200,000 employees that includes the phrase.

"This movement is a catalyst for change, and right now, it's telling us a lot of things need to be addressed so we can make space to heal," Starbucks said in a publicly shared letter to employees announcing the new T-shirt design.

Starbucks. the NFL, and any business had the right to determine how their employees dress and act while on the block.

Many do not want to walk in Starbucks and order a cup of coffee and be hit by any political BS.

Numerous employees told the news outlet, however, that the company regularly allows or even encourages employees to wear pins in support of LGBTQ equality, especially during Pride Month every June.

Either allow flair, or don't allow flair. You can't be picky about the sort of flair that's acceptable.

There should probably be a minimum amount of flair required. Maybe like 15 pieces of flair.

Do it and don’t apologize for it. Nobody that drinks Starbucks is gonna boycott it for any meaningful amount of time.

Nobody who works there will be able to get the same benefits they do working there at any kind of similar level job.

If you boycott a coffee place because of a sensible dress code, you are a moron.
