This guy's name is Kris Enskov and he's from the same county as i am. His step mom's brothers own a small store in town. They just gave me an email for the guy. He's the VP of marketing I believe, so should be in the know on this. I'll post any response.

The verdicts that you guys are talking about with robbers winning are mostly urban legend, but the few that did win are back in the day when a lot of states still had Strict Liability for premises liability situations.
Almost all of those laws have changed, and every state I know protect Homeowners in this situation against those in an unlawful entry, and most states likely have Good Samaritan laws that protect them in this situation.
