I'm not. I haven't once given my opinion on why she was left off.

You've said over and over that she was persecuted for her religious beliefs.

I did not say that.

Yes, according to Spleen's opinion that you agreed with. If you agree with Spleen's opinion that her religious beliefs were a possible cause to her being a detriment to "team chemistry" then you must also agree that she was persecuted for her religious beliefs.

Not that difficult, to be honest.

It could be. I've never argued it wasn't. But I also think that aspect was only part of the reason she was left off the team.

No, I've said nothing about "devout Christian".

His entire argument is based on the assumption they discriminated against her and he has 0 proof of that.

It’s much more likely and logical that a player with only 8 international caps was left off of the WC roster because she wasn’t good or experienced enough to play on the worlds biggest stage.

Still wrong.

You’ve stated multiple times that she was “persecuted for religious beliefs”, which implies that you think she was left off the team for religious beliefs.

What am I missing?

It’s amazing to me that the same people who say we have to accept and respect Rapinoe’s opinion and decision to protest are the same ones who say this woman doesn’t have the right to voice her opinion or to protest.

It’s a crazy double standard.

Who's saying she doesn't have the right to voice her opinion?

So what you’re saying is the USWNT has no right to exclude her from the roster based on her religious beliefs? That her point of view is protected by the constitution? Welcome to my entire point

The fricking nutters want it both ways. She should be able to play without persecution of her beliefs... while at the same time championing Hobby Lobby, doctors refusing to treat gay patients or women seeking abortions, or cake companies refusing to sell to gay couples.

They just want THEIR intolerance fully accepted but when it comes to intolerance of the intolerant... look out.

Should have said she was Muslim or Jewish. They wouldn’t touch her

That I'm basing it off of something that both TT03 and Spleen have said, not something I've said.

It's not my argument. It's theirs.

Again, not that difficult to follow.

She is able to play. She just had a really good season for her professional club.

From the article:
quote:

U.S. coach Jill Ellis told reporters in 2018 that Hinkle was cut 'solely based on soccer.'

It’s more proof than what you’ve offered. The only people floating this persecution hypothesis are conservative political pundits. Which seems more credible?

Everyone that is arguing she should have been on the team also believes Kaepernick should be in the nfl right?

Then wtf are you arguing if you don’t think she was persecuted but you also don’t think she was good enough to make the team based on her own abilities?

So you’re having a multiple page argument with TT03 and Spleen but have not once stated an opinion on the subject?

Serious question: Was the coach supposed to come out and say she could be included because she was a detriment to team chemistry because of her religious beliefs?

Do you understand what kind of shitstorm that would bring? Whether it's true or not, the USWNT program will never admit to it.

Some say the best LB in the world

Who says that? Crystal Dunn plays LB for the same club team that Hinkle plays for and has 92 caps for the women's team.

She can have her viewpoints but since she has actively spoken out against gay marriage, if I were coach of a team (regardless of the coach being gay) I would potentially skip her as well knowing that a large number of my players are gay. Talent isn't everything; chemistry and "locker room makeup" are extremely important too.

Let's say you had a QB with the talent of Brady, Rodgers, and Brees combined but he was an admitted card-carrying member of the KKK, do you think GMs would hesitate to have him on their team knowing that the odds of it going well are slim?

But the main point is that she voluntarily left the team because she didn't want to wear the jersey. Even after that she was called back in to the team, so the idea of her being blackballed is ridiculous. If she were that good she would've been on the 2016 Olympic team instead of someone just used some in qualifying. She's simply not good enough to be a regular on the team.

Now keep reading that post.

You aren't as smart or as good at this as you think you are.

But I'm sure you'll keep telling us how much you're winning in this thread.
