This is about as untrue as it gets. Go tell a homesexual that you have the right to call them a fig or an African-American that you have the right to call them the N-word.
This only goes one way and you know it.
Even hate speech is protected speech. You might get punched or in the fig case, lightly slapped, but hate speech is protected by the first amendment. SCOTUS confirmed this unanimously as recently as 2017 in Matal v. Tam.

Welcome to the much more likely reason behind it. Where’s her proof? Just another anti-gay, Uber religious nutter.
Julie Ertz seems incredibly religious. She’s had no issue staying on the team.
Also. Never heard of Hinkle.

Then you have once again misconstrued my opinion then, because I've never said she was ostracized by her teammates, nor that she was a locker room cancer. Or you're inserting your own words intentionally to bolster your point. Either way, it makes you look dumb. I'll post my opinion on it one more time for you. Please pay attention to the words I use.
I think she was LIKELY good enough to make the team. I think the coaches LIKELY made their decision, at least partially, on the POTENTIAL for her views towards the lifestyle many of her POTENTIAL teammates live being detrimental to the chemistry of the team.
Jesus you really struggle to keep up, don’t you?
Let me break it down.
1. You’ve given your opinion (quoted above)
2. Your opinion points to a player possibly being left off the roster because of her religious beliefs.
3. 2nd poster agrees with your opinion.
4. Same poster as above then says there’s absolutely no way she was persecuted for her religious beliefs.
5. I point out the contradiction. Poster above vehemently denies a contradiction before making outright false claims that said player was left off the roster because she hates gay people.
6. Said poster is then properly called out for his absolutely asinine stance a 2nd time.
7. Here we are with me having to explain this to you like you’re a toddler even though I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with your opinion. I’m just using your opinion to show another posters idiocy ITT.

So what you’re saying is the USWNT has no right to exclude her from the roster based on her religious beliefs? That her point of view is protected by the constitution?
Welcome to my entire point.

You can't be this dumb.
Protected from consequences from government entities. US Soccer and it's subsidiaries, including the USWNT, are not government entities.

So she was persecuted for her beliefs but it was alright because it wasn’t by a government entity?
By the way, last time I checked there are laws against discrimination of any kind for all organizations.

No, it points to it possibly being because one aspect of her religious beliefs could potentially harm the team's chemistry.
Again, please stop inserting your own conclusions and opinions into my opinions. My words have been pretty clear and consistent since my first post.
I don't give a shite about your debate with another poster. I'm only speaking to you not using the words I'm using and inserting your own to misconstrue what I've said.

I'm not inserting anything. You're saying they're possibly discriminating against someone for being a devout Christian.
Maybe choose your words more carefully next time.

You're saying the USWNT program can discriminate against someone because they aren't a government entity.
I'm the one grasping at straws though.

I'm thoroughly enjoying slapping you up and down this thread. The other poster getting butthurt because I used his own words in a way that he doesn't like is just icing on top.

Why are you so convinced of this? She only has 8 caps...the defenders that started all of the World Cup matches had no fewer than 47 each. She also was called up to the senior team in 2017 for international friendlies and was a no show and didn’t admit her reasoning until 2018. If you no show when called up to play at the highest level, then it’s next (wo)man up.

I did not say that.
I said her point of view is protected from infringement by the government, it is not protected from private entities.
Yes, there are anti discrimination laws which protect employees from discrimination; however, she, to my knowledge, hasn't sought out any kind of help in that way. She went on the 700 club to complain.
If you truly think she was discriminated against, maybe you should implore her to file suit against US Soccer, the governing body of the USWNT to see if these claims have merit.
If she doesn't, then maybe she really doesn't even think it was discrimination. Maybe she's just trying to get her 15 minutes of fame. Who knows? You or I don't.
