Stapling Paper

I have always stapled the top left hand corner to minimize the crease when reviewing papers. I have a guy who staples in the middle of the top portion of the paper. It is difficult to review the 2nd, 3rd, page. How does the O-T do it?

I fricking hate when I receive correspondence that is stapled in the top middle.
I've never actually witnessed a person do this, but those bastards are out there.

which means if they are holding a pen/pencil they have to either put it down to turn the page or awkwardly use their left hand to turn the page across their body. Stapling on the left lets you use the hand that will most likely be empty.
I see some legal documents stapled across the top such as blue back stuff, but that's about it.
