I feel like this condescending bullshite is better served in a thread that isn't about the results of a scientific study that points to a CFR potentially dramatically lower than the data you stubbornly refuse to reconsider yourself.

There is no coronavirus vaccine yet... not sure if you’re aware.

Talking about the flu vaccine. Not coronavirus.

So your take is that once we have a vaccine it will be the same as the flu. Got it. No argument here.

The rate in the US is much higher

Incorrect. I’m ready to get back to the office and normal life. I think the vulnerable should take necessary precautions and let the vast majority get back to regular life.
I’m just not afraid to admit that it’s a deadly virus. And not the flu.

Not if this study is extrapolated to reflect the rest of the United States. It's very likely, given the date provided, your or I could have been infected with this virus and we never knew it.

Actually that is far from what I said.
What I am saying is that this is closer to 0.03% more deadly that the flu (which has a vaccine given to the vulnerable people already). Not several times deadlier like you claim.
And to your point, once we have a vaccine, the coronavirus will be several times less deadly than the flu.

Sorry, but no. You can't compute the CFR using only "confirmed" cases in the denominator. The denominator is way way bigger than you think. This is what the study shows.

There’s been over 14,600 deaths in New York City. If every single one of the 8.7 million people in NYC have had the virus (unlikely), the death rate is about 0.17%.
Great point, bbbuuuuuttttttt let’s wait and see IF all those deaths were actually caused BY THE VIRUS. I’d bet frick NO

go to NBR and test a few thousand people and tell me what percentage have it or had it. I bet its over 25%

No shite, but if it's really this widespread (which is also supported by similar widespread testing studies that have been done in Icelend, the Netherlands, and some German towns), then the threat of "rebounds" and second waves drops significantly. And we're much further along the "curve" than basically all of the models indicate.

You'd lose all your money.
NBR is full of overweight, unhealthy people that have unchecked medical conditions like hypertension and diabetes.
If 25% of that population got COVID there would be MASSIVE influx of critical care patients from the area.
Yes this sounds racist, but it is just true.
