My wife is a teacher in St. Tammany and hates masks and mandates, but the quarantining rules they're required to follow if they repeal the masks are far worse
Which is why if your kid is sick, keep them home like normal and don't say shite to anyone.

Did they make a decision?

Mandated masks end today. An option to wear them is up to the parent and faculty.
Is this true?

Vote just passed unanimously. Masks are no longer mandatory.
ETA: Some of the board members were surely passionate about ending it. These are the same members that were completely SILENT the week before school and at which time the superintendent said we just need to get through the next 18 days. In my opinion, they all need to be voted out when up for re-election.

Just received the text
“Beginning tomorrow, masks will not be required in our schools and facilities but they are highly recommended. Masks must still be worn on buses due to federal law. Any student or employee who chooses to wear a mask will be supported. We will continue to follow other safety protocols as we return back to normal as much as possible. More information can be found on our website at LINK target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">www.stpsb.org/coronavirus. Thank you for your continued support.”

I agree with this. Are any up for re-election with this 12/11 vote?

As I said before, I’m seriously considering running when the next term is up. I will expect full TD support and request that my previous posts be scrubbed from the servers.
I watched the feed, and it was a circle jerk of congratulations. Disgusting how they had to commend each other for getting us through this. There was one board member who stated that their hands were tied because of the state mandates. He went so far as to say, it’s in the public’s best interest that we don’t have a lawless board. But no mention of following along with a lawless state and federal government. They are all subject to criticism, and I agree that they should each be ousted the next term.

You have my support! I don’t know the first thing about you, but just the fact that you are a member on this site and that you think the current board needs to be ousted is all I need to know!
