Mandeville High is a class above these others

drugs are of a higher quality at St. Paul's and SSA.
The public school kids do fentanyl and Freon

All the “we’re full” posts from people who probably moved there in the last 10-15 years when Mandeville area exploded.
I haven’t even been here a year yet but I got the last house, so we’re full.

But who will be the AD going forward
Posted on 1/31/21 at 10:13 am to Millivanilli
Both of my kids went to Lakeshore and both were prepared for College. I have no complaints and would recommend Lakeshore.

I’m not sure but do you not think they can find an AD

Both of mine as well. One was accepted to Duke, Clemson Honors, University of Chicago, Vanderbilt, Rice, UGA Honors, UF Honors etc. and at least a dozen others. Lakeshore prepped that kid just fine.
Lakeshore did lose their principal after last year. He was promoted by St Tammany school system because Monson was really good. I don’t have a clue how the new principal is operating.
I know good and bad kids at all 3. Anyone that tells you that you cant get as good of an education at any one of the 3 has an agenda.

Mandeville, Lakeshore, and Fountainbleau will all prepare your kid just fine. Just raise him/her not to be a shitehead and they will be able to navigate in the real world no matter where they go
If you want to invest in a private school education then go to St Paul’s or SSA

Look at the soccer team rankings. Your welcome.
Good luck
My sons went to Covington. In short, if it is the honors or gifted curriculum, fine. If not....
Additionally, Covington has a “diverse” student population. As for my two sons, both were exceptionally well prepared it would seem. One works at an international company centered around satellite technology, and the other one will finish up his masters at LSU in International Trade and Finance.
Just be aware of the “additional” elements that are associated with the school.
My take,
Mandeville (most homogeneous)
Fontainebleau
Lakeshore
Covington (most diverse)
If you are simply comparing honors and gifted, the difference (if there is one at all) is negligible.
As for private and/or parochial schools, they offer the added benefit of religion and exclusivity.
In short, what they offer is basically the honors / gifted portion of the public school system as the base of the student population...in the most homogeneous setting possible.
Mandeville comes closest to that, minus the religious aspect.
Good luck.

I graduated from MHS way back in 80. Even way back then it was filled with snobbish assholes.

If you’re relying on a school to give your kid character and integrity then you’ve already failed them.

The best answer regarding Covington High thus far. You could be in class with a Fortune 500 executive and the garbageman at the same time, and be able to say hello to both on the street with equal ease. Beyond mixing with the poor and black kids so many seem to fear- you also mix with the old guard from Old Covington, Tchefuncta, Folsom, Bush, and Military Rd as well. It's truly everyone from the community.

Lakeshore HS.
Step daughter was in the first class there. She loved it the few years she was there. Nice campus and teachers were helpful. I used to live off of Soult but will admit Mandeville is getting busier so moved to Madisonville.

Spent the $$ and put mine in Christ Episcopal. Would do so again.
Christ episcopal is good for the grade school. It’s very “nurturing”.
The high school is fine if your kid is going to be an artist or a girl

remember when St. Tammany public schools were considered good. There's a reason St. Paul's, SSA and Christ Episcopal are so popular.
