He levitated across campus.

Prayers for Brother Ray. Great man.
Took over as principal from Brother Jeffrey when I was there in the 1980's.

Great man. I doubt I’d be where I am today if it wasn’t for him.

I think this is very true. SSA did not ever quite have the same spirit because it didn’t have an administrator like him.
Definitely not. My parents used to rant over the differences constantly.

I’m a St. Paul’s alum and I have so much gratitude for getting the chance to know Brother Ray. He made a spot for me in my graduating class although already at capacity freshman year due to my personal situation and desire to attend the school. He truly went above and beyond for everyone and will be missed.

I remember the teleportation rumors

He's a legend. He also was rumored to teleport through the school, I swear he would come out of nowhere if you were up to no good. Honestly, though the man was gracious and selfless, he cared so much for the students. Rest in peace.

It was the freaking worst.
I also will also always remember how awkward it was having him explain "maiden heads" meant hymens to my freshman honors English class

Same. RIP Bro. Ray.

Yea that freaked me out. Coach Mauldin didn't teleport, but I do think he employed satellite imagery as well as wiretapping.

Damn, I haven't thought about Brother Ray in probably 20 years but this hurts.
Brother Ray and Coach Mauldin probably saved my life back in the day. A great man who I'll be forever grateful to.
RIP Brother Ray, thank you for everything you did.

We used to go in his office during breaks and try to talk him into leaving the brotherhood. “Vietnam’s over, Brother Ray, you can quit now - come with us to Tugy’s after school.” He would just laugh and keep his good natured composure. He was easy to talk to and seemed to like everyone. He was a genuine man.

He handed me my diploma and my oldest son too. Was really hoping he would be around to see my 8th grader graduate. He elevated that school and all those he came in contact with.
Will be greatly missed.

Brother Ray was on another level - a Goat. SPS will NEVER be the same without him.

Grandsons and Nephews graduated from St Pauls
He was loved by all Students and Parents

RIP.
How long had he been sick?
I’ve heard so many good things about him over the years. People like him don’t come along often so anyone that got educated under his leadership can count themselves as blessed.
Do they have a person to take over?

I believe he started getting really ill last fall sometime.

They announced that a search for his replacement was underway when he stepped down a couple of months ago. I don’t envy that person. Brother Ray is irreplaceable. I hope they’re able to maintain what he built.
