Always amazed me how that man would learn ~800 students names every single year for multiple decades, and remember their names for years that followed after they graduated. One of the nicest humans to ever live

SPS has had a rough 5 or so years, Logarbo, Simpson, and now Bro Ray
Logarbo and Simpson had huge impacts in the lives of students as well

Who was Logarbo?
Simpson was a tough one to lose.

Sad indeed. Did they ever have a cause of death for Mr Logarbo. Was a medical issue right ?
Posted on 4/24/23 at 10:19 pm to John88
Logarbo was such a sad one. It took a little while to figure out what was wrong. It was bacterial endocarditis. He was about to have surgery for it but died suddenly before the surgery.

RIP Brother Ray. Love this man.

I remember when I had him in 2015 he knew something was wrong. It’s a shame they figured out the root cause that much too late.

what i heard prior to reading the post on here about bacterial endocarditis is he had some dental work done, and then boom, gone
apparently bacterial endocarditis can develop from dental work, yes, a bacterial growth in the heart can stem from dental work
what i learned from this is how dangerous dental work actually is

A GREAT man in an age where there aren't many of either sex anymore.
RIP Brother Ray.

Our bodies usually just clear the bacteria out after things such as dental work but if you have something like a damaged heart valve, then those bacteria can get stuck on that valve and stay there. For that reason people with heart valve issues generally get put on antibiotics before certain dental work.

I didn't know Coach Simpson had died. That's sad. He was a St. Paul's man through and through. I think it was his first year teaching at SPS, he recruited a bunch of the Mexican boarders to play junior high football. They got pretty into it. Come for the English, stay for the Wing T .
