This whole shitshow is Exhibit A why cops should wear cameras.

Good thing we didn't know that on last Saturday.
Would have changed a lot of the "eye witness" testimonies I'm sure to make them look more credible.

Agree. I have no problem with protesting.

Agree. That's direct accountability

Local St. Louis sources said Wilson suffered an “orbital blowout fracture to the eye socket.” This comes from a source within the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and confirmed by the St. Louis County Police.
I will be curious how many of these latest leaks 'true up'. They are some biggies....
I am sure if true, those screaming for 'justice' will be satisfied if justice shows justification.

I got no problem with them holding vigils, marching, protesting, demanding answers, making sure that things aren't just swept under the rug. If you wait until after it's swept under the rug, all the protesting in the world likely won't bring justice. What I have a problem with is the violence. All of the other things can be done in a peaceful manner without the violence. The net result could end up being the cop being exonerated and I still don't have a problem with people voicing their concerns or distrust or anger, even if I disagree with them, as long as it's peaceful.
This isn't how it works. The protests historically end up like this one in racially charged situations. No one in charge to control the situation. This has been my piont since about p. 225. We see how it is turning out.

Sad thing is the community leaders continue with the thought that they should protest...how many nights before they realize they can't have a peaceful protest?
I just don't see how some think any of this will have a positive impact on the "cause"
Thank you.

Just getting back to the thread, looked back a few pages and haven't seen it...

That street is like Bourbon street. There is the daytime crowd, the night time crowd, and then the after 2am crowd.

That's apparently untrue as 12 people are alleged to have backed the officer's story. And even if it had a negative impact on witness testimony (I can't even fathom what that would look like) so what? What is the worst case scenario?

protest should have a clear message though...this one doesn't. They are all over the place.

Is this confirmed or like the other phantom shootings over the past couple days?

I am partially with you, however the main players in this charade have been very outlandish in their comments (how many times have we heard the word 'murder'). They don't want justice; they want what they perceive to be justice regardless of the facts as there mind is made up. They can call the cop a murderer and pull in all the racist innuendo they want and get a free pass. They can say as Jesse Jackson said that at least he and his ilk are only here because of the white on black dynamic. They can say as the mother did the violence wont stop until the cop is arrested.
And I am partially with you. Words are words. Say stupid shite you only work to make yourself look stupid. If the words turn to violence, now, it's a different story. Ideally, yeah, more rational minds would have prevailed from day 1. But in many cases they haven't. So they say stupid shite.

but if we blame the cops for enflaming, we surely have to blame the main players on the other side for their comments.
Agree 100%. Said it from day 1 that it was a mistake getting Sharpton, Jackson and others involved. They are very adept at saying they want peace yet at the same time doing it at 8:00 at night, just in time to get everyone riled up after dark. If you're talking about the others that inflame (looking at you white POS with the glasses and bullhorn), there's not much of a blur there. He's flat out inciting the riots and needs to be taken down.

but what I have seen the past 10 days does not give me optimism.
We're on the same page and you're likely right. I guess my point from the beginning has been the focus should be on the acts, not on the words. If they want to act the arse by what they're saying, so be it, but once they cross that line, something has to be done. Or if the words have crossed the line to simply inciting, remove that person.

Not really. He has been like this with me since my first post. Defending the indefensible using deflection, big werdz, examples that don't match this one, etc. I've been watching and taking note. I see no one is ever on his side. That would tell me something.
