According to the scanner earlier, the whole thing started when the Mcdonalds called to say there were looters there, and they locked themselves in, they asked the cops for evac, and the protestors would not give way. That's when the riot gear came in.
Also per scanner, car accident was car vs cop (Car hit the cop at a high rate of speed.)

Baden WAS the guy from the OJ case.

Which witnesses have said that he was definitely shot in the back?
I believe Johnson and Tiffany both said the police officer stood over him and fired into him as he was laying on the ground.

DEFENSE WITNESSES

DR. MICHAEL BADEN, former New York City coroner: Contradicted nearly all of pathologist Spitz's opinions about fingernail wounds, thinks Simpson cut hand on glass shards; believes multiple killers used multiple weapons; killers should have gotten blood on skin and clothes; Goldman could have remained on his feet struggling with his killer for two or three minutes after being stabbed; didn't recall telling national TV audience that Goldman remained standing for 10 minutes; reviewed film clip and said difference between two, three and five minutes was inconsequential because it was still five to 10 minutes from first stab wound to death. Dec. 17, 1996:
It's not really that important anyways

That's what I thought. They brought in Sheck for DNA. But I was almost sure Baden was there, too.

Doesn't matter to me where he was shot, he was unarmed. Even if he is running towards the officer, which I doubt he was, doesn't justify killing an unarmed person, that is what tasers, Billy clubs, and stun guns are for.
Also they found no gun powder residue on Brown's body, so what it seems to blow a hole in the most in my opinion, is the cop's story about how Brown was trying to wrestle the gun away from him and fired a shot inside the car.

No one is alleging that the officer connected with a shot inside the car. Just that a shot went off in the struggle.

They found no gun powder on this body. They were not allowed to test his clothes.

You are correct I must be thinking about another specialist. Want to say last name Lee. Oh well Nevermind I was wrong. May have been another high profile case.

If he'd already tried to take the officer's gun and then is returning to assault him again, there's no way the officer had to use non-lethal force. A citizen wouldn't. Ergo, a cop shouldn't.

I know but of they were struggling over the gun in the car and a shot was fired, Brown probably would've gotten at least a tad of residue on him, he had none on his body.
Posted on 8/18/14 at 12:59 am to the808bass
Well in all the witness reports I have heard no one say that Brown was running towards the cop when he was shot. I'm not sure where people are getting that from.

Probably isn't definitely. And his clothes may have had some anyway.

3rd hand story from cop to cops girlfriend to friend who goes on radio.
Also, witness in video of MB's body says in the background that he wouldn't stop and just kept coming at the cop.

I think the cops still have his clothing so we'll still find out about any gun residue.

Tiffany doesn't say that. Just went back to listen to her. Tussle at car. Shot. MB runs. Cop fires. MB's body jerks as if her were shot. She doesn't actually say he was shot. MB turns around. Cop continues to close on him shooting him. MB collapses to the ground and face hits pavement.
Her comment of jerking like he was hit will call her testimony into question. But a door is left open because she never says (at least in this interview) that he was hit. She didn't say anything along the lines of the cop standing over him firing.
