You don't think last night happens if there's no video release?

It seemed everyone was highly critical of the local PD and their armed tactics. But look what happened when the State Police took over and made it clear they were going to stand down. That SP captain that took over should be ashamed, and the locals should be calling for his head. His peace initiative was an utter failure.

State police was fully armed last night including tanks and tear gas so?

If letting crimes happen to avoid escalation is the answer the lets pull out completely and forget it exists.

It initially worked... However, the local Chief decided to show his arse and rile them up again.

The issues earlier in the week were in direct response to the militarization of the police.

The issue last night was in response to the Chief releasing the video in an attempt to take away from the officers name. Just like Sat night, the thugs came out and looted the place where the situation last Saturday began, the supposed quick e mart.

Interesting. It's always someone else's fault. They cannot control their own behavior.

And only a matter of time before someone else says or does something else to "rile them up again".

Nope... The thugs directly went for the store in the video and then spread out. Same as last Sat night

I think last night plays out EXACTLY like Thurs night did. People protest and the cops let them scream their little heads off and then they get tired and go home.

You send in regular cops as if they are responding to an instance on any other night. They end up catching some of the thugs and the others flee and its done.

These thugs are not going to stand toe to toe with the officers and fight. It would be like cockroaches when you turn the light on.
But what if one of them jumps in a patrol car and attacks an officer.

I sure hope we get a pic of the officers that are involved, that will help.

They are in control of their own actions. They bitch about freedom, but the primary freedom you have is decided your own actions. They decided their actions.

Did they use it when the rioters and looters were destroying the guy's store?

The French logic is it doesn't matter how many crimes have been committed right at this time. As long as they stop it is all good. Fack people's property - we need to make sure the precious looters and rioters are not subject to violence.

I think French's logic is that any police intervention at this point in the night would have resulted in a full out war between the police and residents

My question to the police is what prevented them from having officers at the station in which the theft occurred from the onset?

Did I say it was someone else's fault? Nope, I did not. And I have said multiple times in this thread that the thugs who looted and vandalized should be arrested and prosecuted.

People are responsible for their own actions, but uneducated morons like them don't need to be poked and riled up for no fricking reason and that is what the Chief of Police is doing.

Idk. Youre giving the looters a lot of credit. Who's to say they don't go to DW's house instead after learning his name?

French's logic is whatever fits his agenda at the moment. How can you not see that.

Oh, I agree. But there are some that would argue that it's the fault of those who rile them up. Otherwise, it wouldn't matter or not if they were riled up, they would still exhibit control over the behavior.

No they didn't and neither did local police when the initial looting took place on Sunday

Maybe this is a policing policy, they don't stop looters?

Exactly, and it isn't just this little event.

Either go in armed to the teeth, or don't go at all. I say let them rot, stop all govt provided services into the area.

The incident needs to be investigated, if the officer shot a guy with his hands up, he needs the maximum penalty the law will allow. But we all know that didn't happen, the investigation will show that and we will do this song and dance again in about 6 months when no charges are brought.

The rioters don't want the truth, they want attention and an excuse to act like trash.
