I don't think you really see any value in protesting.
Christopher Roupe, 16, was shot by a police officer when he opened the door holding a Wii controller. The officer was there to serve a warrant on his father. This was the second time the officer had shot at an unarmed subject. This time, she didn't miss. He died. There was an inquiry and no protest. The case was taken to the grand jury and they found that that the police officer did not have lawful authority to use her weapon. The prosecutor did not press any charges. Could protesting have been helpful there before the prosecutor made their decision?

You know, I wonder about this.
What if there was a concentrated effort to remove kids from terrible environments of the inner cities and bring them to camps or farms where they would be housed and fed and educated and learn the value of hard work?
Learn a trade, benefit society somehow.
Would that help?

Again, we're talking about protesting early. Why are you avoiding that specific point in your own argument? People could have protested during the GJ hearings, right?

That's a good idea, but as in other things, a lot would have to change. Why would said parents allow this sort of thing when the gov't pays them? For example, read about this woman (for lack of a better word) who said she didn't need to work - she was getting paid for her kids, getting paid to go to school, etc.
So, until that kind of thing changes, I don't see how your idea - as good as it is - would ever work...

While I disagree with this happening anywhere I think it would be more on topic to point out any benefits of this one.
