Why the frick do they need grenade launchers?
In case they don't move when we light them up with balls and gas????

Still doesn't justify giving them that reason.

Red the protesters and police had agreed they would not protest where they were told to disperse from. When they were told to disperse it was to the original location. The police allowed them to block that street. So I ask again how is it a peaceful protest when they break the pre arranged agreement they had on where to protest?
Your concept of what a protest is and mine are 2 completely different things so this conversation would go nowhere. My idea of a protest is not reservations at Tony's.

I would venture a guess if you polled the nation right now, they would find just as much wrong with LE as they do the rioters. No one is going to justify rioting, but tonight there was literally 2 guys out of all of them there tonight that were thugs. One threw a bottle. One threw a molatov cocktail. The rest really were pretty obedient. Every time the cops asked them to move back 25 feet, they did. Then they just got unloaded on because of 2 people. People will see those 2 people as wrong but they'll also see the way our LE is handling it just as wrong.
If you polled the nation most response would include the looters in with the protesters. You and I know different but MOST aren't very informed. Add to that the black community gets a black eye (no pun intended) because of this ignorance.
Also, you and I know 1 or 2 people started this but given LEO's vantage point they couldn't tell how many or how bad it was going to be. They retaliate as though it was all of the guys on the other side.

The police getting all this military equipment brings this to my mind:
If they can have MRAPs, and M-16s, and grenade launchers, then we should be able to have them.

. You can have our LE and we'll just hire new ones that understand and respect the constitution.
What about all the citizens that don't respect the constitution?

Meh. Most of the cops here aren't true alpha males. They are alpha male wannabes. That's why they like to use the big toys because without them they are no where near an alpha male. It's more like little man's syndrome than being an alpha male.

They get arrested. Like they're supposed to.

They shouldn't have been. Blocking any roadways shouldn't be under "peaceful assembly"
Well guess what. No one got hurt. Cops actually controlled traffic upstream to make sure no one got hurt. They made there statement. A few were peaceably arrested and life moved on. But you're right. They probably should have made a bigger deal about it and lit those frickers up.

What are protest for? Do the protesters want to win over the American public and garner support for their stance or just blow off steam?
The way they are protesting will not win over the American public.

Can someone please show me where this agreement is? I have never read it or seen it. I know PD asked, the requested, then demanded it and ultimately steamrolled their way to enforcing it.

Until they are treated like humans, they will continue to act like animals though.
And this where the rubber meets the road. The flip side is they will be treated like humans when they stop acting like animals. I didn't make that up. I'm just the messenger here.
Redbone says that as long as people set themselves apart from others they will not be treated as equals. That goes for race, color, religion, creed, etc. I don't endorse it, I just observe it.

Oh gawd, I don't remember. Long time ago. Seems like it was either highway 40 or 44. Can't remember what the cause was. Seems like someone else tried doing it again some years later and they put a halt to it that time.

it's scarey what these cities and states are getting. some are getting light and heavy tanks(not armored vehicles, tanks).
This all came about after 9/11. The feds slung out a lot of money to every podunk LEO, F.D., hospital,... They all bought shite they don't need. I know. I delivered some of it to them.

Pretty sure it was Al Sharpton then. 96 or 97?

Well that is a completely different situation don't you agree? I am sure the protest was organized and LE was able to make arrangements for public AND the protesters safety. Probably had no reason to think violence would break out.
