Even with the suspect pointing a gun at the police, the police officers will be labeled as racist and the suspect will become a victim.

You shoot center mass until the threat is eliminated in every shooting incident. There's no such thing as shooting once. guns are to be used in law enforcement in extreme corcumstances when there is an immediate threat to police or to the public. There's no time to be second guessing yourself. Your doing what your trained to do.

You need to read the article to see some gold comments from the protesters. One guy actually said the police should have "de-escalated" with the teen instead of shooting him. How the frick do you de-escalate a guy pointing a gun at you?

I'm not LE but I have some knowledge. I think LE is supposed to escalate above a potential threat in certain circumstances and then once they've asserted control, then they de-escalate.
