Is that just JP Sheriff jurisdiction or all JP murders?

Maybe that's where Jefferson dumps the bodies. At least that was the rumor for Bloody Tangipahoa back in the day.

Maybe it’s just JPSO. Either way, all of the municipalities with their own police force (Gretna, Kenner, Westwego, Harahan and Jean Lafitte) haven’t had any homicides so that number should be the same parish wide.

quote:

”Right now, we're at the end of June, and we're at four for the year," said Jefferson Parish Sheriff Joe Lopinto.

Guessing the murders are mostly in the Edgard-Vacherie area, a lot of Democrats there.

5 of the 6 were in Laplace. Four different shootings with five victims. One of the shootings was two drug dealers shooting and killing each other.

I'm glad I don't live in that area any longer. In 1975, thugs murdered a nun, a priest and the housekeeper at St. John the Baptist church in Edgard. If I had to go in that area at night, I'd bring my S&W.

Nope.

Laplace turned into NOLA west.

There have been straight up executions in the street out there over the years.

I pass through once/twice per week for work, and I can see why. St John cops are only interested in writing traffic tickets and nothing else.

And no, I’ve never gotten a ticket or pulled over there but I see what they’re doing and it’s very clear

FIFY

Anyone who has spent any significant time in St John over the past 10+ years is not surprised at all by the current crime rate.

I remember stopping at a McDonald’s there in the 90s.

The one at Prescott and Airline in BR was less ghetto.
