Im most likely talking a class or three above you. Literally every rich mfer I've talked to hates the idea of St. George. They send their kids to Catholic/SJA. They live in gated communities (CCofLa). They're world is already nice and safe. They hate taxes more than you and they all vote conservative. Many own businesses and real estate in BR and don't want the city to turn into anymore of a shite hole than it already is. I don't give af one way or another about St. George. I just dont think its a lib vs conservative issue or as much of a black vs white issue as everyone is making it out to be. Tons of rich BR conservatives are against it.
You couldn’t be more incorrect in your initial assumption but go on…..
There are plenty of upper class folks who are against it, but it’s not at the percentage you believe and they’re against it for the very reason St George is needed. They have self interests involved in St George continuing to fund the entire EBR system.
I own businesses and real estate throughout EBR, Ascension, and Livingston and I recognize this is a needed change. You’re yelling into an echo chamber and waiting to hear a response.

Do you blame them? Do you hold it against them that they cannot, in good conscience, send their kids to EBRPSS?
I don't blame them at all. I just had to point out that there are many wealthy conservatives against St. George. I personally dgaf

I’ve talked to folks in CCL who are for SG. I’ve talked to business people who are in favor of SG. I’ve talked to upper class people who live adjacent to SG and want in.
I don’t think you realize the widespread support SG received. If you look over the precinct maps it appears that the CCL precinct went for SG as did the UC precincts.

Rich MFers are usually progressive. They need the status quo to keep their wealth.

He’s probably clamoring for the attention of Lipsey and Enquist

And tons support it. Many of them live in CCLA and send their kids to SG, Catholic, St Joe, Episcopal, and Dunham. Many own businesses and real estate in Baton Rouge too.

Is anyone else noticing how quick deep state employees are to threaten their countrymen with loss of their rights? How casually they publicly talk of imprisonment of anyone who dares to want Democracy over authoritarianism ?
Yes, I have noticed particularly when you ask them for facts instead of emotions.

This rehearing request is about one thing that serves two purposes.
That one thing is the LSC declaring the official date of incorporation
The purposes are:
1) If the LSC decides the date of incorporation is their decision date (2024) instead of the certification date of the election (2019) then the City/Parish will not owe SG up to $250M in back sales tax
2) Also, the annexations by those funding the lawsuit (Charles Landry, Lipsey, Engquist) made after the election certification date will not be declared null and void.
It's about money, it always has been. None of this affects the actual reality that St. George is now a city.

Wow. Think the City Of St George will send out armed agents to arrest them and force their kids into their public school system?

"What are they getting sworn into, a non-existent city?" Pierson said before the ceremony. "These people are jumping the gun. They better not collect any public money, that's all I can tell them. Unless they want to go to jail."
So much desperation in this, Baton Rouge has no recourse except in their mind. BR about to be sued by St George for funds they were to hold in escrow at the time of election.

Which one of his addresses did Cole use to demonstrate how he would be impacted?

So the wealthy / ruling class doesn’t want to change the status quo, because it might upset their power structures.
In NOLA, this kind of thinking is how we got LaToya Cantrell.

The optics of a white governor appointing a white mayor, white police chief and 5 white aldermen are horrible & undergird the claims St. George is "all white." And white judge Hunter Greene performed the sweating-in.
