Look at the maps again. ZERO overlap

I regret that I have but one upvote to give. Many thanks

Are they really asking for help paying the legal fees after years of promising they’d be ok financially
Are you really so ignorant to think there is a budget for legal fees from a city that doesn't exist yet? There is no SG to fight the lawsuits. These are the petioners, private citizens, being sued by a neighboring municipality. That should piss you off. That should piss EVERYONE off. I don't even live in the SG area anymore, and I will be donating.

There are some real fools responding to this that really have no idea how this works and are just spouting ignorance fed to them by Soros funded groups about how St.G was planning to "pay for everything".
They were planning to move forward the way any incorporated area would have but:
1. The Mayor and the Governor blocked their ability to do so with legislation making it impossible for them to begin with a transition committee.
2. The governor has to appoint someone now and will not do anything until after the election (by plan to hurt the the new city).
3. Representatives of the St.G movement (the only ones who exist at this time) met with the Mayor and she was not interested in moving forward because she can't stand it. These are the same people she told to go form a city.
4. The mayor is suing individuals with your tax dollars.
5. She is suing citizens for going through the process of creating an incorporated city out of an unincorporated area of the parish, the exact thing she told them they had to do if they wanted their own school district.
6. They did the exact thing that they legally had the right to, and she is still fighting them because she and the BR elites are unbelievable corrupt and have huge support from useful idiots.

My bad, I thought that parts of BR had been annexed into StG.
That doesn’t negate any of what I said about needing funding to support at least a bare bones staff to start the new venture

In general, the discourse on SG via this board has been more intelligent for the second effort. However, there some seriously ignorant fricktards in this thread.

That's as close to a direct quote of their political ads as I've seen

No, it just means that you haven't yet realized that your second point was just as asinine as your first point.

You’re right. All ventures get started with no funding. Good luck finding a tax collector to work for free

Guess you didn't know that Together Baton Rouge is just a local branch of the national Industrial Areas Foundation started by Saul Alinsky himself. Yeah Soros dumps an arse load of money on them.

Who was going to meet with her? Who had the authority to negotiate that on behalf of StG?
Chairmen of the St. George Incorporation that helped spearhead the effort from the start. Also the spokesmen and lawyer, Andrew Murrell.

Shouldn’t you need a government to do that on behalf of the taxpayers of StG?
obviously not, it has to start somewhere to get to that point.
This shite isn't hard to figure out man

So now you want JBE to appoint his cronies to run the city? I would think St. G would want to see if Rispone wins first. This seems like JBE is actually doing St. G a solid

Nope.

Has anyone here actually read the lawsuit?

Are these elected officials negotiating how/where their taxpayer funds will be spent? No? Didn’t think so

Correct. Did you just figure this out?

Why is there so much overlap in BR and StG maps then?
There is none.
Nothing like finding out the entire premise of your position is flat out wrong.

Why doesn’t SG have businesses backing their efforts? I find it odd that they have no significant funding sources.
Isn’t the spokesman for SG a lawyer by trade?

Yeah the entire premise that they needed money to start a government was wrong because I didn’t know the entirety of StG was unincorporated

They aren’t negotiating how it will be spent. They are not negotiating at all. There is no need for negotiations as the taxes collected in the St. George footprint are city taxes, not parish. They were meeting to solidify that the parish would set them aside for the eventual city government to use.
This is why the BR mayor and her attack dog lawyer were so combative, because they lose out on slush funding they have become dependent on to run the city.
