Did those cities have actual plans? Based on BR's lawsuit it looks like they could potentially save a lot of people a lot of headache from a group with no real plans.

SG has a plan
They have a budget
They were ready to proceed until MOP hijacked the meeting with Broome.

Perpetually wrong.

It must be very liberating to not care that you are wrong all the time.

So a plaintiff with millions to gain files suit and you just assume their “facts” are true.

StG is estimated to have a $16 million to $24 million surplus in first year (have seen various based on usage of revenue to improve services and possible boundaries changing with current BR push). That’s only a headache for city of BR and also before any new StG annexes.

It’s set up to make sure it has resources and a basic viable plan and then after vote a temporary govt is set in place by Governor not to have a govt body and a body of laws and it’s own services ready to start day 1. They voted to incorporated. They can’t yet vote for mayor and city council.

Broom as president of parish is supposed to be negotiating an agreement for continuing of services as is during transition. In central process to just elect it’s own govt took 9 months much less time for complete transition. If city doesn’t have same services during transition period as it does now that’s because Broome would be causing it or can’t do it consistently regardless. It’s in best interest of all involved to come to a fair and equitable agreement as if Broome strong arms them StG already gets less from parish govt than it gives and can more easily afford financial wise to take over more services than Central has. The parish should want to charge a competitive fee for services the city can start to provide on its own to help keep some revenue. It should not try and cut services already funded by taxes to try and strong arm StG and use against them in court.

Just like Central
quote:

on July 11, 2005, Governor Blanco appointed a mayor, chief of police, and city council members pending the holding of elections in the City of Central. Also on that date, an “Intergovernmental Agreement” was entered into by the City/Parish, the Planning Commission for the City of Baton Rouge, the Parish of East Baton Rouge, the Central Transition District, and the City of Central, to provide for the continuation of public services to all citizens in the incorporated area of Central and those living outside the incorporated area.
In April of 2006, voters in the City of Central elected a mayor, chief of police, and city council members.

This is the part of self governing comes in. Organizers are not elected officials. The area has the means as is with portion of sales tax staying in StG & not going to BR, and they are still paying parish taxes. If they decide to do more and/or better than what parish already does they will then have a govt & process in place to do this in a manner it’s citizens have voted for whether directly or through representation on city council just like city of Baton Rouge has done with its city only services.

That’s exactly what the mongoloid Broome is doing. Her last ditch effort to keep her honeypot.

Steal from st George and give to the trash in nbr.

Yes. Baton Rouge is acting like a city full of leeches. Begging, whining, and filing lawsuits to keep BR in control of the taxes being paid in StG and to stop fellow parishioners from incorporating just like they are in BR.

This needs to get out to whatever national conservative websites can rally a base and funding.

If anyone thinks MOP is working for “free,” those folks are mistaken. Promise of other legal work or under the table payments are far too likely.

I never realized how racist the people who are in City Government are until this whole came about. Mayor is racists and so are some of the council. Most of NBR is racist.

Are you really so ignorant to think there is a budget for legal fees from a city that doesn't exist yet? There is no SG to fight the lawsuits. These are the petioners, private citizens, being sued by a neighboring municipality. That should piss you off. That should piss EVERYONE off. I don't even live in the SG area anymore, and I will be donating.

I know that. I’m just enjoying the irony here from Ascension Parish.

SWB knows her days are numbered. She can only stall this movement for so long. She’s trying her best to prevent the incorporation from happening under her watch, but in the end, it’s not going to matter. She’s going to die knowing that StG got the best of her.
