Other sects of Christianity have their problems but the Catholic church is in a league of their own

My wife and kids are catholic.. attend catholic schools.. I attend church and love the fellowship and have been pleased to have some great priests.. with that, I’m not catholic and don’t plan on officially becoming catholic.. I’ve felt this way since the initial scandals of 15 or more years ago..

I disagree. I think they are all rotten at the core

This is not me saying religion is rotten, this is me saying the organizations using it as a money maker are rotten

I think people should be proud to be catholic or baptist or whatever else, but just understand the organization behind it is as two faced as Two Face himself

Yes not the only reason but the main one

I raise my kids to practice what Jesus taught in terms of loving others and compassion. We worship Christian ideals not any church

Organized religion takes the good word and makes it a business, one in which "holy" people will protect the organization over children. Its not just the Catholic faith.

No, I left because I don't care for organized religion.
Most are just in business to make money.

the church is not the religeon, you may leave the church or stop practicing there but it doesnt mean you change your beliefs.

for a long time now the church has stopped being about the core beliefs and teachings of the bible and is agenda driven and nothing more then another version of a political group

most recently it has been taken over by the SJW globalists, they are like a cancer that infects everything

I agree with that but I was specifically referring to the abuse of children and the Catholic church. They are the GOAT of child abuse

On boys yes. I would say Baptist preachers/mega churches ate the GOATs on praying on underage girls

I get more out of it honestly. I feel like I relate more to the Methodist church than the Catholic church. They are very similar, but still have key differences.

Just one more reason I think Catholicism is a cult. How many people do you know that say they married a Baptist, left the Catholic Church and became Baptist? Unless he/she becomes an atheist, they hardly ever walk away from the Catholic Church.

Eta: there is a 0.0% chance that I’d ever become Catholic.

If you believe in the tenants of the Catholic Church, and hold the belief in the Eucharist, you cannot leave the Catholic Church. Only the Eastern Orthodox Religions hold the Eucharist with the same respect and beliefs, none of the protestant religions do. You can not let what man has done within the Catholic Church change your beliefs in the coreteaching of what Jesus and his apostles laid out during the early church.

Isn't this kinda like "common sense catholics"? I feel like that's what it is after looking into the religion a while back.

This is coming from someone who is catholic and attends mass regularly

Both my catholic sisters married baptist

Both sisters and BILs met in the middle as Methodists......

I dont think your everyday Catholic is very culty, personally, as someone who doesnt practice catholicism but has been around it and was raised catholic and lived in Tennessee and been around protestants, Catholics as individuals feel far less culty and preachy compared to protestants

I get not agreeing with the goings on of the church. But if it's truly the abuse that is the trigger, how do you change your belief system based on people obviously sinning. I get the viewpoint of being frustrated that the organization isn't doing enough about it. That's fair. But I don't get jumping to a different organization which has a different belief. How does one person's sin change your belief?

I personally was raised catholic and don't practice because I philosophically don't agree with any organized religion.
