Most every municipality in this state functions in part off sales tax revenue. NO and BR will take the biggest hit, but Central, Zachary, Mandeville, et al won't be far behind. Combined with the situation at the state level and the price of gas falling, everyone is gonna feel this.

Hopefully we can maintain basic public services. However, if you look at the financial statements of most public utilities in the state, NO SWB won't be the only one in serious trouble.

The local governments will get hammered on sales tax collections. The state on income, sales, oil revenues and casino revenues.

Think of the police departments and how they usually make tons of money writing tickets, etc. There are going to be lots of shortfalls or they will be ticketing every person out there when things get back to normal to make up for lost $$$.

Good hope it all crashes and Louisiana can start from scratch and do it the right way this time. The festering corruptness is deplorable.

Since there’s no cars on the roads maybe the cops can go after real criminals like people in north Baton Rouge rather than harassing people for victimless crimes like speeding and open container

The taxpayers are going to get shite hammered after this winds down. Every politician and bureaucrat is going to be screaming about lost tax revenues and we, the taxpayers, will get royally fricked on this.

Thanks JBE

Edwards closed that up a few years ago. They are supposed to be collecting those taxes now.
