Just personal opinion, doctors tend to have people get on medications or have surgeries they don’t really need or would be fine without to the tune of 70% misdiagnosed.
You can’t be this dumb.

Our family doctor has done this for twenty years. He got tired of dealing with insurance companies.

It is the concierge model. Some doctors are using it because not having to file insurance means that they can manage with fewer office staff. Seems to be more common in wealthier areas.

Never heard of this before. On ssi I can't afford to stay with her at membership cost. Anyone else heard of this ? Plus', negatives? Is this the future model?
Gonna need a pic of her to make a judgement.

Doctors are glorified street drug dealers. Don’t go unless you are having a major issue, and in that case, go to Urgent Care or Emergency Room. Zero positive reason to go to a routine doctors office.

My regular doctor visit is how I found out about my cancer. Caught it early.

Dude cold calls is not the way to find a good pcp. You must have a large enough group of friends to include 3-4 nurses that have a good understanding of what docs are good and ones to avoid.

Why are you responding to me with that?

You’re in luck. In 10 years, only very wealthy people will be able to see a doctor. You will get the nurse practitioner or PA. Hope they can help you!
IMHO 10 years is about 9.5 years to much. Seems every time I call to set an appointment to SEE MY PCP, they push to see the PA/NP instead of the PCP.
The last time I replied "sure, if it's 50% less $$ for the office visit to see the PA because she's not a doctor so it should be cheaper, right". The grumpy young lady that answered, answered back, "let me see how soon I can work you in to see the doctor".

I have no idea what's going on this thread; Bluegrassbelle getting called out for making posts she didn't make, Della22 making logical posts, BabyTac's alter starting a thread...
Clown world, bruh.

I doubt anyone on this board would be happy with a third party deciding how much every job you do is worth.
Good for him.

Sounds like a direct primary care physician (DPMC). I’ve been going this route for about 6 years and I really like it a lot. First time I went in we talked for 2 hours. Try doing that with a standard doc. The model is lean bc they don’t have to hire staff to handle insurance or Medicare collections. Often times they only have one part time person working with them. I get medicine and blood work very cheap. They also usually have arrangements with MRI and such so that you don’t pay much for them either.
Part of me likes this model bc it’s an FU to the insurance companies and the pharmacy benefit manager scams.
Ideally I’d have catastrophic insurance coverage with a DPMC and/or a functional health practitioner.

Sign up for Amazons OneMedical. It’s about $90 a year, and I essentially don’t pay for visits, even though I’m on a high deductible plan.
