I'm certainly not going to side with pot smokers on legalization when we both know that I am paying for the healthcare for many of them.
What about fat people, of which there are many? Or alcoholics, of which there are many? I guarantee you the amount of obese people with shitty diets far surpasses the amount of people who have serious health detriments due to smoking weed. I further guarantee you the effects of heavy drinking and poor nutrition far surpasses the effects of recreational marijuana use.
You're just going to have to fabricate health effects for marijuana to make this bs argument work.

From someone who knows a couple people who are addicts, where Marijuana was their first drug to do, it is a gateway.
A drug dealer sells other drugs. Go figure.
Let me ask you this, did they drink under age? I had my first beer before I ever smoked a cigarette or weed.

Alcohol. It is legal to drink under the age of 21 in the state of LA with guardian consent.
What message are we sending?

I don't smoke but the pills docs dole out are much worse than smoking a plant.

I'm not sure how this can be regulated. Pot store will have a whole bunch of associated costs. That will drive the price up. Dude on the street doesn't have those costs. But he can raise his price to get it closer to that of the pot store
Call it a convenience fee. And I haven't had many dealers with many different strains to choose from along with a multitude of various edibles. I'd never go back to a dealer again

What are the negative health effects of occasional marijuana use?

Most are opposed.

So many people think if was legal that we would have 350 million Jeff Spicolis running around with no shirts and no shoes.

I think there is a misconception that if it is made legal everyone will smoke it. The same people that smoke it now will continue to smoke it. There will be some newcomers but not the entire population will want to try it.

Second, we have bigger fricking problems than legalizing pot
Mass incarceration, over the top criminalization, poverty, unemployment...
And you think none of that is related to the disastrous war on drugs?

Also had a good friend who got drunk out of her mind and walked in front of an 18 wheeler in Port Allen.

FIFY. You'd make a fantastic alcohol prohibition spokesman.

So I guess because of the legality of alcohol everything is fair game for legalization according to your logic.

Uncle Rico blew his shot at the NFL so weed should stay illegal. Great argument!

The argument that too many people are sent to prison for weed is ridiculous. Weed may have factored into an arrest but prison is the result of years, and multiple frick ups. Not just getting caught with personal use a time or two
Three strikes?

Let's make all mind altering chemicals legal because alcohol is legal? Is this the best argument you have?!

Do you have a reasonable argument as to why marijuana should be illegal?

Let's play a logic game.
Is there any danger posed by weed that isn't posed by alcohol?
Does that imply that one is as safe as the other?
Therefore, by legalizing weed, are we increasing the danger posed to the public?
