On my way back from Cenla to NOLA last week, I drove to Larto and back to Jonesville, got turned around by 565 being mis-signed, ended up back on 84, and then started heading south on 15 in Ferriday.

It was so much fun on an empty river road with fog at certain spots and plenty of curves. It's the same road through Concordia Parish that the Angola ferry is on, until it runs into LA 1 by Morganza.

What are some other scenic and fun drives y'all would recommend in LA or maybe MS?

Many may not find it scenic but I loved driving on 165 South of Monroe to Columbia with my family on our way to visit my grandparents in Houston.

The road was two lanes and winded it’s way through endless cotton fields that would be in full bloom. I often saw colorful crop dusters zooming up and down the rows in dynamic maneuvers.

Hills and Forrest on highways make for wonderful drives. The interstate was not made to be beautiful but rather hyper efficient. Because of that, it is boring as sin

Yeah it's pretty but you have to go through Hackberrry and that kind of ruins it

In the spring and fall on a clear day, driving 1-10 across the Atchafalaya swamp is pretty

It’s kind of unique, but you can really get out and meet your neighbors on I-10 in Baton Rouge.

In the Kisatchie Forest, Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway/Forest Highway 59 (FH 59)/Parish Road 830.

Regarding Mississippi one must mention the Natchez Trace from Natchez up.

That looks awesome and near I49. I am going to try it next time I go through there when there are leaves on the tress, thanks!

You’re welcome. The Kisatchie is sometimes an overlooked gem in the state and I suppose that is in many ways a good thing. I haven’t lived in my home state of Louisiana in many years but I have fond memories of this wilderness in the hills.

It’s one of the only places in the state where you can find some whitewater.

From Olla over the hills to Duty Ferry. You crest the last ridge and the Ouachita river is spread out below. Not quite the Ozarks but as close as you'll find in Louisiana.
