I’ll probably get roasted for this hot take...but it’s a Kringle or a danish with frosting, sprinkles and beads is not delicious. Plus, you have to worry about chipping a tooth because of a plastic baby.

It’s a holiday tradition, like turkey on thanksgiving. King Cake is good, some are great, but it’s not the best thing in the world.

King cakes are only good super fresh. They dry out way too quickly.

They’re just fun and seasonal. Every place makes them a little different. Not sure if I’ve ever had two that tasted the same.

Not really. It's more of an oversized cinnamon roll with filling. But yes, they are overrated. Good? Absolutely, but not incredible.

I'm not a sweets guy fwiw.

Is a thread that’s been done 100 times really a spin off?

I like German Chocolate, red velvet and carrot cake.
My Great Grandma made a pinto bean cake one time. That was damn good. Actually had more Apples than beans I think.

Put me in the overrated crowd. The seasonality of it is why it's so popular, similar to egg nog or turkey.

You’ve lost the argument. You can’t give me a reason why you like a King Cake...instead, you deflected a shitty take.

Some of them are horribly bad, especially the ones that are just dry bread with icing on top.

At least it is not dry like plywood and has flavor inside the pastry. Put sprinkles and beads on this, it maybe better then a King Cake.
