I tend to save spiders. Except the brown recluse that like to make homes in my tack box. Those can die

I have a scar on my arm from a brown recluse. The bite wouldn't heal and a dermatologist had to excise it.

Good lord, it’s like the worst parts of a baptist. Does he not dance either? Probably can’t even fry chicken

Seriously, I had a spider bite on my leg several years ago and it got bad pretty fast. Ended up having to go to to an after hours place. I couldn't get my leg wet for like a week, I had to take antibiotics, and put some antibiotic cream on it.. It took about 2 weeks for it to heal..

But when I was a kid there was a spider on the porch in the backyard. It was relatively big.. My brother stepped on it and all of a sudden it seemed like endless amount of baby spiders started going everywhere. At the time it freaked me out and I had a hate for spiders ever since.

Doctors tend to blame any insect bite on a spider bite.

Humans in general have always been queasy around things like spiders. So saying this contributes to the pussification of America argument doesn’t make sense.

People have been scared of spiders and snakes for millennia. You think there might be a reason that they are depicted as monsters in stories? Is this supposed to be a recent development?

It's self-preservation! It's about care for the well being of the people and dogs around me. Spiders don't give a shite about us. I ain't giving them the chance to take loved from me!

Where were spiders when I got attacked by hornets? What are spiders doing when peoples' houses get overrun by cock-roaches? If spiders are supposed to be doing good work by eating a-hole bugs, then why do we have deal with spiders and scorpions and roaches and mosquitoes and flies and centipedes at the same time?

Simplest answer to me is: it's a lie, propagated by spiders. They're not eating yellow jackets or jack jumpers or Giant Manderin Hornets or any of those belligerent frickers who plague us. They've joined forces, part of a coalition with rodents, mites, snakes, broccoli, AIDS and other revolting forms of biology that make the human experience a PITA. Their aggression will not stand!
