The article about the NFL player and a scary spider - it was a damn wolf spider. Non-aggressive and basically harmless.

Wolf spider - ain't going to hurt you

Back in my day our breakfast would be a bowl of spiders in rotgut whiskey. And we were happy!

Garden Spider - not going to hurt you

Growing up in Hawaii, we'd run through some heavy brush as kids and come out with web and about 4-5 of these spiders on us.

What made you want to create a thread for this? You on pain pills?

I caught a black widow behind the office last spring. Put it in a jar and tossed in a grasshopper. It was fascinating to watch. She'd put a little web on the grasshopper and then back off (grasshopper would damage her if she tried to bite it). She'd repeat until the grasshopper was tied up enough where she could bite it.

Couple days later, I let the black widow go.

I remember riding four wheelers through the woods growing up and a banana spider would have spun a web between two trees. It was the scariest shite ever when you would ride through one.

I tend to save spiders. Except the brown recluse that like to make homes in my tack box. Those can die

My ex-father in law, who was kicked out of Marine boot camp, cause he's a pussy, wanted me to kill some garden spiders that had webs around some plants at my house. I explained to him that they were harmless, and very beneficial, he didn't care. They looked scary!

He also didn't drink and didn't think anyone else should either. He's also an atheist.

I've heard those big garden spiders can still give a nasty bite. I don't kill them but I am more cautious if I think there might be some nearby.

Downvote because you forced me to look at a big as pic of a spider.

If being afraid of spiders make me a pussy then so fricking be it.
