I'd say the same thing about teachers.
I wouldn't be shocked to learn about teachers in Seattle teaching kids about LGBTQIA+ bullshite or teaching them America is racist. Those aren't the same kinds of teachers that live where I live.

I live in a nice community and used to walk my dog early every morning before work. The posted speed limit is 25 mph but most people don't follow it. Usually most would go 10 over because it is a pretty long road with a few sharp turns. The only A$$hole that normally flew down the road every morning at about 65 mph was a Jacksonville Sheriff officer in his squad car going to work.

Imagine her Indian parents that were so proud to send their daughter to the US to receive a degree. Only for her to be killed by the police and the Vice President of the police guild laughs about it. Then says her life was low value and only worth 11k.

Many have trouble with nuance these days. Everything’s black or white. All cops are bad or all cops are good.
How about cops are just people. Some good and some bad.
Of course both cops in this situation seem terrible. OP thinks they are representative of all cops, which is mind-numbingly stupid.

Willing to bet that shite was taken out of context. Until the whole recording is released, I won’t say anything besides he should be fired if it is true. I have absolutely 0 trust in the media, especially in Seattle.

This being national news is asinine.
Why was his body cam footage reviewed in the first place? Did his partner report him?

The biggest farce of 2020 was that the police are a conservative, freedom-loving, Maga-aligned group and not a big-union, red-guard arm of the statist elites.
Well that was just the knee jerk reaction to the farce of black oppression that led to riots etc. both stances are farcical.

That feels like a pretty broad statement. It would be like saying all Alabama fans are like Harvey Updyke. While yes, there are plenty, there are also plenty who aren't total scum.

What should the punishment be? Something cruel and unusual. I was thinking deep fry him like pieces of chicken, but he would die to fast.

It's ironic af you used someone who was a state trooper in your analogy

For speaking crudely about the accidental death of a person he didn’t know?
The pearl-clutching in this thread is nauseating.
I’ll reserve my disdain for policing for when they execute no knock raids on the wrong house and such.

There is a such thing as a group image or group perception.
We have to stop pretending like we don't stereotype or predetermine things based on group perception or image. Human pattern recognition is a basic human survival instinct.
This wasn't some low level rookie cop.
This was the Vice President of the police guild. Guy is making 300k to protect and serve.
Why go into public service if you have such disdain for the public?

So the cop speeding was responding to another car incident. No context to the actual incident such as siren on etc. The other cop was laughing about it on a phone call. The $11k comment was fricked up.
