In Seattle a cop doing 74mph in a 25 mph zone hits a 23 yo Indian girl in a crosswalk. She flies over 100 feet and dies. She was a graduate student on a student visa.

Sadistic Cop. Laughs at death of young girl

shite bag sadistic cop laughs and says her life was low value and worth only $11,000

I was told this is normal for all first responders and isn’t a big deal.

I think it's ignorant to put all cops under the same umbrella as that douchebag. But that's just me.

I know many policemen who are upstanding citizens and very professional.

He didn't say THOSE cops were good.

The existence of bad cops doesn't mean all cops are bad.

I'm talking about the guy laughing. I imagine the guy who actually hit her didn't do so with malicious intent, probably gross negligence.

My response was to the OP who seems to think all cops are on par with the psycho laughing at this girl's death.

Can we not lump a group of people into a box over the actions of one person?

And yes, I know there are lots of a-hole cops out there. We've had this thread/discussion a few dozen times on here.

I've seen tons of nice cop videos. Helping save peoples' lives. Are they all the same? I've seen cops break down after being forced to fire on a person. I think most cops don't like shooting people, but that's just my feeling on it.

If I see that an Alabama player slapped a girl in a bar, should I think all college football players go around slapping women?

Just trying to figure out how I should think. Maybe attach your perception of people's actions to their actual actions.

I'm not taking up for the blue line here, just giving an alternative thought process.

If I get on youtube and watch a bunch of a-hole cops doing bad things, I would grow the perception that cops are assholes.

If I get on youtube and watch a bunch of good cops doing nice things and risking their lives and helping people and playing basketball with the community kids, I would think cops are good.

Perception is everything. Your perception is your reality. These message boards shape your reality more than you know.

That seems incredibly douchey to me, but i rarely go 200% over the speed limit nor run over people.

Yeah, and my point was there at least 100% more douchey cops in this situation than you're accounting for.

The biggest farce of 2020 was that the police are a conservative, freedom-loving, Maga-aligned group and not a big-union, red-guard arm of the statist elites.

Well you're not a cop responding to an emergency call. This may be news, but cops typically drive faster than the speed limit when a call comes in. They may even run a red light or two.

What are you even saying? If you think the cop ran this girl over Grand Theft Auto style, then okay. I doubt that happened, which is why I said it was probably gross negligence. Neither of us know exactly what happened, but it's terrible either way.

When can potatoheads stop overgeneralizing literally everything in life? There are millions of cops you neanderthal. Not all are going to be choir boys. Shocker.

It’s obviously not true that 100% are terrible.

Wherein the problem comes is this guy laughing is a leader in a major force? Becomes hard to defend Seattle PD when this happens as surely it’s not the first time he’s gone out of bounds to be so comfortable laughing out loud about an officer involved civilian death, right? So presumably he hasn’t gotten much serious push back on the behavior. And then are you also if mixed character if you are cool with him being your brother in blue and acting like that?

I agree that many forces are good, and many forces that are bad have well intentioned officers in them. But between the politics of it all and not wanting to risk careers, without great leadership the questionable groups force everyone to start making moral compromises - even the good guys

While true, it's also true LEO largely expect and live by a Back The Blue code. Policing their own and not tolerating shitbag peers should be their code, but it's not.

Personally, I'm not shocked there are immoral people in the SEATTLE police force. I'm certainly not defending the Seattle PD. But those are not the same kind of people who police the city I live in. Which was my point to the OP.
