Catholicism is the one true faith

Said no Biblical prophet ever.

Catholicism is religion > faith. Pretty much the opposite that Jesus taught. I know and love a lot of Catholics, but they're very poor at discussing Bible doctrine. They can tell me what their "religion" believes though.

All I know is idc what religion you identify with. If you believe and have a relationship with Christ, and believe he died on the cross for your sins and you put your faith and trust in Him, you're good. The rest is extra.

Charismatic evangelicalism is not everybody's thing. I think those mega-churches do a lot of good work and they have a lot of good people, but it's a little exuberant and a little anti-intellectual for my tastes

Catholic, Proestant....ones like that

I think there are some absolute truths in Christianity....if your denomination doesn't believe those...it is NOT true Christianity and only deceiving people into believing you are. The other differences in the denominations doesn't really matter in the long run....just the absolute truths.

Examples:
If your denomination doesn't believe in the trinity(God, Son, Holy Spirit)...not Christianity.

If your denomination doesn't believe that Jesus died for our sins on the cross and was resurrected...not Christianity.

If you put your trust in Jesus, you have to believe he was who he said he was. He was a 100% man, who was also the son of God in the flesh.

So you can't believe in Jesus if you don't believe who he says he was.

Agreed. Pelagianism (the teaching that works would get you into heaven) was declared heretical about 1600 years ago by the Catholic Church. Of course, the notion that faith alone "earns" us heaven is just heretical.

Says who? This is a relatively new belief in Christianity.

I always wonder who will win the religion war by population of the earth. Catholics don't believe in birth control, the Mulims have as many wives as they can obtain, the Mormons who resemble the Muslim religion in many ways believe in multiple wives and crusading all over the world to convert people to the Church of Latter Day Saints (the guys on bicycles in shirt and tie).

The Mormon religion was dreamed up recently by religion standards by some guy laying in a field in Missouri. That is the religion that scares me the most besides the Muslims.

They are in the Bible. I realize being a Catholic you may not be that familiar with the Bible...but it's in there.

Agreed....and because they live very moral lives...people just naturally think their religion must have merit. Those that are not religious at all just assume Mormons are just another form of Christianity. No different than a Catholic or Protestant. That is what is deceiving.

I'm not saying Mormons are horrible people. They have strict morals and hold to them and have great family values.....but they are not Christians.

I'm not Catholic. And if you knew anything about the sausage making that went into choosing what books to put into the "Bible", you wouldn't be so quick to pronounce that it was full of absolute truths.

I find it funny that you so forcefully view Catholics and Protestants as being so fundamentally similar. Wars were fought over their differences, but modern-day "hippy Christians" are just "like cool with all of that, man".

I know. I almost didn't have the heart to tell her I'm not Catholic. I wanted her to be able to enjoy that.

Wait....do Catholics really believe that non-Catholic Christians(that believe that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, still believe in the trinity and death and resurrection) are going to hell just because they are not Catholic?? Seriously?

Certainly not. You know this, nurse.
