Spanking a kid--where do you stand?

I spanked my kid a few times but not since she was like 5. I'm not opposed to it. Raise your kids how you see fit.

I have watched a lot of kids grow up through the years and whether they were spanked or not doesn't seem to affect how they turn out in life.

Kids can be corrected effectively by either spanking or by punishment/talking to them. Spanking is the easier method for the adult involved, but can get way out of hand if done when you are angry.

Spanking just shows how low of an IQ you have. You’re an adult and you can’t think of other ways to instill discipline and respect besides beating your kid?

We spank our children when they need it but we don’t make it a habit. Child psychology is a real thing and although I was spanked many times as a child (maybe that explains some things ) we try talking to them first. There are times when a good ole spanking is necessary though.

We basically fall in the middle of both arguments.

I stand to the side of the kid so I can get a good swing.
